...in casual, is the offensive preset used the entire time? Or just on some plays?

I.e. If I want to utilize the Spread preset, but only some of the time, by selecting Spread and setting it as a preset for an upcoming game, will that preset be used exclusively the entire time?

And what governs the selection of who my QB is while using that preset? Does QB1 on the depth chart come into play at all? Or does all the rotation come merely from the generic QB under depth chart?

Here is a link to the presets. These are full gameplans and will be set for the whole game. which DC positions to use for QB and such is listed in that link too below the preset descriptions.

Note that the ONLY preset that will use a rushing QB is the wildcat preset.

Well, it apparently doesn't use it the whole game, because I just scrimmaged against a team where my wildcat would run only some of the game, and then the rest of the time the sim subbed in normal packages with my normal QB.

The wildcat preset is a mixture. It only has a few rushing QB plays that it throws in along with some screen passes from the rushing QB.

Think of it as a team that brings in a rushing QB for a few plays and then goes back to their normal QB. That is what the GLB wildcat preset is, and it is the only way in Casual to effectively use both a rushing QB and a passing QB together in same game.

They are old now, but they have won 3 of last 4 Casual Pro championships essentially using the wildcat preset. Watch some replays of their games in Season 64 or 65 do get an idea of the play calling.

Thanks man. I really appreciate that. So the only way in casual to make a team run the whole time is to set run at 100%? (But even then, the game might still pass a little, right?)

And, will enabling presets render null any settings I have selected with respect to handoffs, outside/inside run percentages, etc?

AKA: If I choose to run the QB 80% of the time, will the playcalls in the game with the wildcat preset still roughly be about 80% QB runs in some fashion?

Basically, I don't want to use a wildcat preset with the intent of running the QB 100% of the time, without handing off to my RBs, and then find out my RBs have 40 carries. You know?

Thats' the only way. If you don't want any passes, set your 3rd down pass distance to something ridiculous like 20 yards and make sure score based play calling is not checked for any of the quarters. Those are really the only two overrides.

Presets override the basic casual playcalling. Presets are an entire gameplan. You can't use both the %'s together with a preset. If you want that much control, you will need to play in a regular league.
