THE MINXY REPORT-- GAME THREE

University Elite #1- Now we are starting to get into the swing of this season

Game of the Week: All The King's Men (13) vs. Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts (10): The hometown crowd at Rick Parry Memorial Coliseum was buzzing with nervous energy as they watched their All The King's Men defense take the field with the game tied and 1:29 left on the clock. Seconds earlier the fans had watched All The King's Men cap off an amazing 5 minute long 80 yard drive with a passing touchdown to tie the game 10-10. Now the fans knew that All The King's Men only had to run about a minute and a half off the clock and prevent Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts from driving 40 yards to prevent a late field goal and force the game into overtime. At the 1:20 mark, Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts failed to convert a third down, so Kurt Davey, head coach of All The King's Men quickly called a time out to force Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts to punt the ball on their own 41 yard line with 6 yards to go on 4th down. But DavyJonesLocker had a surprise up his coaching sleeve. Instead of sending his punting unit onto the field on 4th down, he sent his offense out to try and convert a first down on 4th down with 6 yards to go. The hometown crowd at Rick Parry Memorial Coliseum screamed "DEFENSE!!" as this play unfolded:

The All The King's Men Offense was jubilant at their unexpected good fortune. All The King's Men took full advantage of taking the ball at their opponents' 40 yard line by driving 6 yards in 3 plays and then kicking a 51 yard field goal with no time left on the clock to end the game. Minxy immediately headed to the visitor's locker room after the game to get a post game interview with DavyJonesLocker. Minxy had planned to interview the coach about the questionable play call on the last offensive play of Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts. Shockingly, the visitor's locker room was chained shut. Minxy pressed her ear to the door and could hear DavyJonesLocker screaming and swearing at his team and the sounds of chairs being thrown against the wall.

Offensive Player of the Week: (TE) The Phantom of the Opera -owned by daisyv: "We can score on any defense" boasted the Universal Studios Monsters' Tight End, The Phantom of the Opera, as he stretched out before the game. A pretty young sideline reporter,Christine Daaé, was interviewing (TE) The Phantom of the Opera, but felt uncomfortable by his unflinching gaze and obsession filled eyes. "My Angel of Music, I shall score two touchdowns just for you this game" cooed The Phantom of the Opera. The Universal Studios Monsters beat the Yukon Huskies. (TE) The Phantom of the Opera had a 164 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. With the Universal Studios Monsters sitting on a very comfortable 30-3 lead, The Phantom of the Opera left the field with 1:00 minute left in the game and climbed into the rafters of Universal Studios Stadium. Just as the final ticks of the clock ran down to 00:00 indicating the end of the game, an enormous chandelier crashed down from the rafters of the domed Universal Studios Stadium onto the field. Fire flashed across the field from the exploded gas lamps of the chandelier. During the ensuing confusion, (TE) The Phantom of the Opera threw the frightened sideline reporter, Christine Daaé, over his shoulder and ran off the field and down into the bowels of the Universal Studios Stadium basement. As terrified fans fled the rapidly spreading fire, the loud speakers played the song "The Music of the Night".

Defensive Player of the Week: (CB) Cam Taylor Rafiki -owned by husker4life : The Nebraska Blackshirts continued their winning ways. Against the super tough Rhode Island Red Wolves, the Nebraska Blackshirts started the game in amazing fashion with this defensive touchdown:

On the day (CB) Cam Taylor Rafiki had 3 tackles, I sack, 6 hurries and of course an interception for a touchdown.

Special Teams Player of the Week: (HB) Rocky Gillespie -owned by wyrenut: The VOLGOGRAD BLACK ARMY beat Hammer Time 10-6 and scored all of its points on special teams. (HB) Rocky Gillespie took the game opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown to start the game with a 7-0 lead.

POWER RANKINGS
1. Nebraska Blackshirts
2. All The King's Men
3. VOLGOGRAD BLACK ARMY
4. Universal Studios Monsters
5. Free the Weed

This is utterly ridiculous....in a good way. I wish there was some way to recognize orange other than "nice write up" replies in the forums. The above section of this edition is EPIC!
