Coventry Owls vs. Holland Pinoy All Stars = Owls get after the All Stars and get the win.

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Houston Roughnecks = Another tough matchup but I'll pick the Red Raiders.

Brazilian Island Gurupies vs. Sea Wasps - Army = Sea Wasps sting the Gurupies.

New Jersey Scallywags vs. Castile Knights = Scallywags get the rout of the week.

PVAC Gofers vs. Houston Gamblers = Gamblers beat down the Gofers.

Warsaw Gods of War vs. Barcelona Conquistadors = Conquistadors get a win over the Gods of War.

Week Eight Results:

Coventry Owls vs. Holland Pinoy All Stars 17-10 = Close and hard fought - who would have guessed?

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Houston Roughnecks 37-16 = Red Raiders with a solid win over the Roughnecks - we can say the Raiders have grown up for sure

Brazilian Island Gurupies vs. Sea Wasps - Army 13-27 = Another hard fought game and the Wasps get this win.

New Jersey Scallywags vs. Castile Knights 136-0 = Scallywags get the off week rout.

PVAC Gofers vs. Houston Gamblers 13-33 = Gamblers over the Gofers and it's never that easy.

Warsaw Gods of War vs. Barcelona Conquistadors 7-80 = Congrats to Barcelona on their improvement from last season

final four for the tourney tomorrow evening. I won't really get to check anything out until Wed night so hopefully things go well with the RNG and TTRR over the next week.

the halfway point:

Alpha:
Coventry has pretty much locked up first place
TTRR/NJ/Gurupies all battling it out for second.
Warsaw 100% out of the playoffs
PVAC may be able to sneak into a playoff spot if they get some upset wins. highly unlikely though.

I don't see much changing in the alpha standings. Should be Owls vs gurupies and Red Raiders vs Scallywags in R1.



Zeta:
All stars are looking strong but houston and Sea Wasps could dethrone them at any time. Should be a good battle for the top seed.
the 4th seed is a toss up between houston2 and barcelona. Both teams are hurting for some wins. Neither have much of a chance of making it out of the first round of playoffs anyway.
Knights are out.

I'm saying nothing changes in the standings just like alpha. All Stars vs Barcelona and Sea Wasps vs Houston.


Owls over Gurupies. TTRR over Scally wags. Owls over TTRR.
All Stars over Barcelona. Wasps over Houston. Stars over Wasps.

pretty much can only lose maybe 2 more times this season if you want a playoff spot. a few tough losses early on that could have easily went your way and would've changed the entire conference.

Holland Pinoy All Stars vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders = I have to pick an upset once in a while - Red Raiders by a hair.

Barcelona Conquistadors vs. Brazilian Island Gurupies = Gurupies win another close game over the Conquistadors.

Castile Knights vs. Warsaw Gods of War = Gods of War over the Knights.

Houston Gamblers vs. Coventry Owls = Owls get a close win over the Gamblers (Gamblers just beat us in Tourney play).

Sea Wasps - Army vs. PVAC Gofers = Sea Wasps defeat the Gofers who just can't get a break this season.

Barcelona Conquistadors vs. Brazilian Island Gurupies 6-27 = Gurupies get a solid win over the much improved Conquistadors.

Castile Knights vs. Warsaw Gods of War 13-17 = Gods of War get a win in a matchup of bottom dwellers.

Houston Gamblers vs. Coventry Owls 17-14 = I should have called this one because we struggle against the Gamblers.

Sea Wasps - Army vs. PVAC Gofers 13-6 = Sea Wasps add another heartbreaker to the Gofer's season.

Houston Roughnecks vs. New Jersey Scallywags 0-9 = Scallywags add another heartbreaker to the Roughnecks season.

Oh heck yeah it was a damn good game. I saw some bad play calling on my end. We should have kicked that freaking FG towards the end of the first half. Nevertheless, you guys controlled my team's running game and that TD by your RTE was awesome!
