THE MINXY REPORT-- PLAYOFFS ROUND ONE

Prep Competitive #1 The Playoffs are incredibly competitive this season.

Game of the Week: Free the Weed (20) v. American Muscle (13): These two teams have played each other more times than any other two teams in the league this season. Its always a big game when Medicated and jim9mopar face each other, but this was the game that meant the most. Round One of the playoffs and American Muscle fresh off its Tournament Championship victory over Free the Weed, its no wonder why NBC promoted this game as its Sunday Night Prime Time Match Up. American Muscle jumped out to an early lead due to a long touchdown pass thrown by (QB) AM Adrianne Palicki . American Muscle held that lead and at halftime the score was 10-6 in favor of American Muscle. Medicated was still shell shocked from the 38-0 beating his Free the Weed team took in the Tournament Championship game at the hands of American Muscle. In this playoff game it seemed that Medicated's offensive playbook had no answers for the American Muscle defense. At halftime, a nervous Medicated left the visiting owner's suite at the American Dome and went down to solemnly stand with his losing team on the sidelines for the start of the third quarter. While neither team could score throughout the third and most of the fourth quarter, American Muscle seemed to be in control of the game and headed for victory. But, in the waning minutes of the 4th quarter, Medicated saw the miraculous break his team needed as (HB) Crack Whore returned this punt for an 85 yard touchdown:
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2925506&pbp_id=1346102
American Muscle came back and with 1:20 seconds left in the game kicked a field goal which tied up the game and seemed certain to send the game to overtime, As Free the Weed fielded the ensuing kickoff and took over at its own 35 yard line with just 1:12 left in regulation play, a cold sweat came over Medicated. He remembered all of the close games his Free the Weed team lost throughout this season. Free the Weed was certainly going to be at an emotional disadvantage if this game went to overtime. Medicated desperately looked over his offensive playbook. He only had 12 rushing plays in his playbook, but Medicated felt certain that a big run could win him the game. Earlier in the game, Free the Weed had tried the HB Counter Sweep Strong running play but it was blown up for a loss by the American Muscle defense. Medicated called out for his star running back (HB) Alex Collins. Medicated and (HB) Alex Collins discussed running the HB Counter Sweep Strong running play again. Both owner and DOT felt good about the play call and this winning touchdown was the result:
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2925506&pbp_id=1346191

Offensive Player of the Week: (TE) Giorgiani Catturare -owned by DavyJonesLocker: The Devil's Brigade offense is a supremely confident unit and refuses to take a back seat to any offense in the league. The Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts offense came into this game determined to outshine the Brigade. In the opening possession, (TE) Giorgiani Catturare, had a 42 yard touchdown reception that set the tone for the offensive onslaught that would follow. On the day (TE) Giorgiani Catturare had 120.5 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

Defensive Player of the Week: (DE) Jayson Maguire -owned by Bryan610: Just two weeks earlier, the Rhode Island Red Wolves unexpectedly lost a close game against Agency 2.0. Now the Red Wolves faced them again in the first round of the playoffs. The Red Wolves Defense was determined to not let Agency 2.0 onto the score board. For nearly the entire first half, the Red Wolves defense kept Agency 2.0 scoreless as it ran up a 21-0 lead. Then, with just 8 seconds left in the first half, Agency 2.0 was able to a sneak a field goal onto the scoreboard. The Red Wolves were furious! The Red Wolf defense came out in the second half determined to pitch a shut-out. To the delight of Bryan610, his Red Wolves held Agency 2.0 scoreless in the second half. (DE) Jayson Maguire led the way with 4 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 hurries and 1 tackle for loss.

Special Teams Player of the Week: (CB) Return It -owned by DavyJonesLocker: The Pirate Ghosts delivered a 62-14 beat down of the Devil's Brigade in the first round of the playoffs. Special Teams played a large part. (CB) Return it sure carried his load as he accounted for 3 punt return touchdowns.

PLAYOFF POWER RANKINGS
1. Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts - Who can outscore these damn Pirate Ghosts?
2. Rhode Island Red Wolves - If defense truly does win championships, this is the team to beat.
3. Free the Weed- Impressive victory in the first round of the playoffs
4. Universal Studios Monsters- These guys put the "special" in Special Teams play

THE MINXY REPORT-- PLAYOFFS ROUND TWO

Prep Competitive #1 The Conference Championship games were AWESOME!!

Game of the Week: Rhode Island Red Wolves (24) v. Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts (14): Skull Cove Stadium sat nearly empty as this HUGE conference championship game proceeded to kickoff. As of the start of the game, DavyJonesLocker had not sold a single ticket. The cavernous stadium was eerily quite as the Pirate Ghosts kicked off to the Red Wolves. DavyJonesLocker sat alone in his owner's suite and gazed out upon the rows and rows of empty seats at his stadium. "What the heck is going on" growled DavyJonesLocker. After only a few minutes of play the Red Wolves defense produced the single greatest play in Goal Line Blitz history and nobody was on hand to see it live:
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2925860&pbp_id=1401999
Going into halftime both teams were playing lights out defense and the Red Wolves enjoyed a 14-0 lead. DavyJonesLocker left his owner's suite and walked the stands of his empty stadium. "Lets go Pirate Ghosts" chanted the lonely voice of DavyJonesLocker. As the third quarter wound to an end and the Pirate Ghosts still had not put a single point on the scoreboard, DavyJonesLocker had a brilliant idea. What his team needed was "The Wave". DavyJonesLocker jumped up from his seat on the east side of the stadium and waved his arms over his head and screamed "Wooooooooo!" Then DavyJonesLocker ran through the empty stands of Skull Cove Stadium to the west side and sat down. Seconds later, DavyJonesLocker jumped up from his new seat on the west side of the stadium and waved his arms over his head and screamed "Wooooooooo!" The Pirate Ghost players really seemed to respond to the enthusiasm of this one-fan-Wave. The Pirate Ghost's (QB) Pin Point Accuracy delivered a toudown pass to (WR) Dangelo Spicer to close the gap to 17-7 in favor of Rhode Island. But ultimately, despite DavyJonesLocker's best efforts, the Red Wolves defense was too much to handle for the Pirate Ghosts. Two touchdowns was all the mighty Pirate Ghosts could muster in this game, and that was not enough. The Rhode Island Red Wolves won 24-14 and left Skull Cove Stadium carrying the Western Conference Championship Trophy.

Offensive Player of the Week: (WR) Dracula's Daughter -owned by orangesdcd: I can hear everybody jeering me for awarding my own DOT, but (WR) Dracula's Daughter was the most dynamic offensive player of the two defensive oriented championship games. (WR) Dracula's Daughter had 47.5 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown and converted two third downs.

Defensive Player of the Week: (CB) Jourdan "Shutdown" Lewis -owned by Dillon Dacus: I have been playing this game since season 25 and I have never seen a more clutch play than this intereception returned 103 yards for a touchdown:
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2925860&pbp_id=1401999
And, if I can find an excuse to post a link to that play for a third time in this Report, your darn right I will.

Special Teams Player of the Week: (K) The Last Warning -owned by Anax42: The Universal Studios Monsters special teams has been stellar all season long. Special Team's Coordinator, Anax42, has delivered performance after performance and this week was no exception. (K) The Last Warning accounted for 12 of the 30 total points scored by the Universal Studios Monsters with 3 field goals (the longest 44 yards) and 3 extra points.

PLAYOFF POWER RANKINGS
1. Rhode Island Red Wolves - The Western Conference Champions play defense for keeps!
2. Universal Studios Monsters- The Eastern Conference Champions can scare any team in the League.

THE MINXY REPORT-- CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Congratulations Universal Studios Monsters' fans, your team has won the Prep Competitive League #1 Championship. Please call 555-2368 to order your commemorative t-shirt.

Offensive Player of the Game: (HB) Creature From the Black Lagoon -owned by armadafalls: All day long, (HB) Creature From the Black Lagoon studied game tape to try and spot some crack in the impenetrable Rhode Island Red Wolves' defense. Clip after clip showed that the Red Wolves can't be scored upon. (HB) Creature From the Black Lagoon noticed only one small weakness, the Red Wolves' cornerbacks tended to wear themselves out over the course of the game. The first eleven carries of the game (HB) Creature From the Black Lagoon got bottled up by the Red Wolves' defense for minimal gains. But midway through the fourth quarter, the Red Wolves' cornerbacks were breathing heavier and running slightly slower to the ball carrier. So, on his twelfth carry of the game (HB) Creature From the Black Lagoon turned on his jets and blew past the tired Red Wolves' secondary for a 72 yard touchdown run.

Defensive Players of the Week: (DT) Tredavius Randleman -owned by -Rod- and Huckle Berry -owned by cheese sandwich: Hands down the Rhode Island Red Wolves have proved that they have the best defense in the League. They got a defensive touchdown in the conference championship game and then another defensive touchdown in the League Championship game. This forced fumble returned 68.5 yards for a touchdown was incredible:
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2925963&pbp_id=1461047

Special Teams Player of the Week: (CB) JL M -owned by vikings72: The Universal Studios Monsters' defense have not given up an offensive touchdown in the post season. Not in the first playoff game. Not in the Conference Championship game, And, not in today's League Championship game. That puts a lot of pressure on an opposing team's defense and special team's units. The Rhode Island Red Wolves were up for the challenge and put up seventeen points; none of which were scored by their offense. A Red Wolves' defensive touchdown and field goal made the score a respectable, but still losing, 31-10 going into the two minute warning of the 4th quarter. But then (CB) JL M fielded a punt with 1:51 left in the game and delivered this spectacular 82 yard punt return touchdown:

SEASON FINAL POWER RANKINGS
1. Universal Studios Monsters- League Champs of the Competitive Prep League
2. Rhode Island Red Wolves- The best defense in the Competitive Prep League
3. Davy Jones' Locker Pirate Ghosts- Regular season victories over the Universal Studios Monsters and the Red Wolves
4. American Muscle- Prep Tournament Champions
5. Free the Weed - Had the ball bounced a different way in some of this season's games, this team could have ranked much higher
