Thanks for all of the responses. I guess what drove me away initially was the amount of time needed to invest to even be remotely competitive. I don't mind putting some time in, but when I returned a few years ago, it had gotten so confusing and so precise when it comes to building the perfect player, that it turned me off. I am not sure where to even start. I always enjoyed owning teams more than anything, so maybe I just need to dive right back in and be the Browns for a few seasons and not get discouraged.

At the very least checking in every couple of days to avoid going "inactive" especially if you are on a cpu team. But honestly, we dont really even know if 14 months from now, hardware wise, that this game will even have a heartbeat anymore.

Bort hasnt even posted anything on his twitter account about new developments of any of the warrior general game since november or something... We need some proof of life, like a picture of bort holding a newspaper with todays date on it, right now who knows. My main concern is wondering if the literal server will be running long enough to finish up.

We would have to come to an agreement on how much hosting is per month, but I'm willing to bet most would be surprised by flex purchases....I'm willing to bet they are still pulling in quite a haul/month. I'm also willing to bet there are more than you think of "unique" users as well....even if they all average 2.50/month, that's still quite a bit of money....

what I'm trying to get too is I think the income is still more than enough to cover hosting costs....so my guess is even if bug riddled...the game will likely be around for a while.

I just wish Bort would have sold it to someone in it's prime...if he was burnt out, no harm no foul imo, but he could have sold it to someone that could have taken in somewhere great....I mean up until he stopped making changes and moved on to GLB2, this game was the absolute best on the interwebs in simulated football.

This.

The only thing different is that weird random stuff breaks every season. Scroll through this main Forum and see all the complaint threads.

If you've bought the flex already, and have the urge, go F'ng nuts. Blow as much as you can, as fast as you can. With a 70% refund on players, you probably won't be able to spend it all anyway.

There's technically 4 rookie leagues to choose from but really there's no choice. There's one that is full already. Full of 1& done trophy whores with a few WL farm teams sprinkled in. The other 3 are completely empty. Every new team starting this season has gone to casual, which is essentially vibrating table football.https://youtu.be/OJI9sFJ9RXQ

I have some flex to burn and built a few players last week after taking the past 30 or so seasons off. Even if not as active as before, I do remember it being entertaining. Like the OP, it did get a bit too time consuming and all builds were the same, so the effort wasn't worth it. Hoping to find some team with a pulse!

Your dots are too old for Rookie teams and not at the level for them to be desirable for Prep teams. My advice would be to retire and restart your dots with a Rookie team. I know of a team that is in need of dots. If you are interested just let me know.
