Got to pondering about 'How much is too much' when thinking about Strength for QB's Archetype kinda doesn't matter (unless it's a pure RQB which hardly ever throws the damn ball anyways)... I get it that Bombers pile on strength like a drug addled steroid junkie. It's great to know a QB can throw a ball 200 yards (field is only 100 but, what the hey, right?)... too bad they have trouble hitting the broad side of a barn. Pocket passers have issues throwing the deep pass but do decently with the shorter stuff. Mostly what I hear (and agree with) is that strength helps get the pass to the receiver faster. Trouble is... ever try to catch a 150 MPH fastball??? Right... dropped passes seem to abound with those shoulder-fired rocket launcher QB's.
So... how much is TOO much? How little is NOT ENOUGH? And don't just give sweet 'arbitrary answers' based on good guesswork... PROVE your response a bit if you can. I'll accept someone's 'I built about 20 QB's and tried different approaches and saw a HUGE difference between number-X and number-Y'. Or, I've coached a LOT of teams and found that 'this number seems to produce the best results over the life of the dot'. I have my own number in mind but want to see if I'm close... and if my thoughts are correct.
Thanks in advance.
