Good luck. I hope we can have a good comparative season with some laughs and fun.

Lots of new teams with owners who have BIG league resumes.
My hopes for The Replacements is merely to make the playoffs.
Time will tell if I am able to make that happen.

I was hoping this forum would be more lively. Maybe when the real games start. We have a big matchup week one. Good luck, but I hope I crush you into dust.

Gurupies vs All stars is an interesting game.

Yeah, There are 3 human owned games week 1. Week 2 only has the Kagushun All Stars vs. Kamakura katanas.

I look forward to all the human owned team playing each other. The CPU teams seem like a waste. It seems unlikely that any human team will lose to them.

I watched that game without knowing the score. The end of the game there was a big mistake with the running QB in on a passing down. Glad I caught that now.

Not sure what is up with the CBs giving huge cushion on some passing plays. I have it set to -100. Have to figure out how to solve that or I am going to be in trouble.

Looking forward to the next game in week 15.

I had/have that same issue. Didn't get it completely solved til the latter part of last season. Players builds are young, still. They will get better with time.
Great game, overall. Plenty of mistakes made on both teams, but nothing that isn't correctable.

I don't think I saw any AI mistakes by your team. This is my first season back in ~8 years so I had to build everything. It would have been pretty crazy to walk into a competitive league after being gone for 8 years, build everything and just come in beating people.

I am going to ask, I don't know if you will tell or not. Did you temp boost for this game. You could PM if you want. I was planning not temp boosting all season, but that may be a mistake.

I'd been gone for several years myself, came back last season to kill time while out on job locations. Trying to apply some of the stuff from last season to this season's squad.
What is temp boosting? Don't think I've ever heard of it. If I have, I've forgotten what it is.
I see and saw tons of AI mistakes on my side. Some of it I think I can fix.....other stuff is just gonna have to work itself out as the season goes along.
Never have understood why the AI calls the same plays over and over when they aren't working. I always put in a fair amount of plays to select from if something isn't working. Kept seeing the same plays today when it "should" have adjusted and gone with a different play or plays. You would think that with a minimum of ten plays to choose from, and the settings on "adjust quickly" it would not try the same play time after time.
I will check the settings in my AI. I was never a very good offensive coordinator. Not enough imagination, I guess.

I dug through some PM's from way back when.......like 8 or 9 years ago when I was really into this game.
They said back then that with these early builds not to set the coverage too tight, as they don't react quickly enough and you will see them in great coverage then just fall back and give a big separation and allow an easy catch.
Saw several of my secondary players doing the same thing. Nothing consistent, just always at the wrong time.

You won the championship last season so you have to have figured something out. I just need to sort a few more things out.

Looks like you have a dozen peewee gold trophies. So I would say you are probably the one to beat in this league.

Last season was.........last season. Several of the teams were very one dimensional. The QB rollouts were the norm. Stop that, and you stopped your opponent in most cases.
The gold trophies were mainly from having players on a team and being made an honorary GM. LOL. No effort required. Only had four teams that I owned win anything, and they were all lower league teams.....Copper and Silver. Wasn't even competitive in PeeWee Gold way back when.......
I tried my hand at OC on a Casual team.......just never could get the hang of it, so I stepped aside and let someone more knowledgeable take over the reins.
I'd say with your upper league experience, you, the Gurupies, Midway Monsters, and the AllStars are the teams to look out for.
I go back out on a job next week, so won't have time to gameplan or do much. I will drop a few games, hopefully rebound in time to make the playoffs and that's the real season. Everything else is just a learning curve.

I like your style, you disingenuous bastard. You are really pushing the, I am not that good and don't really know what I am doing angle. Half the teams you listed you beat last season.

I know, I know. You keep up the good act. Maybe in a few seasons we can start a team together. Your Columbo to my Martin Riggs if I can mix movie\shows on ya.

That was a really good game between the Gurupies and the Replacements. I am looking forward to the Gurupies v Katanas in a few days.

I think the marquee matchup next week is the House of Pain vs. New Orleans Hangover.

It seems like we have a enough good teams to have a good matchup almost every week.

The Gurupies are a VERY good team. Can't afford to make any mistakes against them, and watching the replay, I/my team made more than a few. Poor/spotty gameplan. I apparently clicked on plays that I thought I had removed from the playbook. The list goes on and on...........
I think you match up better against the Gurupies than my team did. Gonna have my hands full against the AllStars. They beat my team in the first matchup last season. Gonna have to actually scout against them and try to make some adjustments.
