Forum > Goal Line Blitz > (FYI) if you didn't already know, like I didn't! "BREAKTHROUGHS" in training DO happen with (Auto Training).

I have been multi training on Auto Training with my player for a while now, and carefully calculating the training, as I have never witnessed any unusual bumps to the percentages I should receive. Sometimes, I may get a very slight increase of an extra point or two on the percentage, but nothing significant to be concerned about.

Well, as many things go here at GLB, it was bound to screw up my plans. I was counting on last night's training to be the final training on an attribute (For Now). Leaving it at about 95% trained and the attribute (SKILL) point level was at 88. So yesterday I had 6 training points, again multi training 4 attributes and the SKILL point level at 88, the training percentage was at 87% with no Enhancement. that should give me an increase of 6.5%. Leaving the SKILL point attribute at 88, at around 94% to 95% trained. Perfect spot to stop, cap it and then train it over the cap respectively.

Auto Trained as expected The Training must have had a breakthrough, as it trained at least 14% and another attribute trained an additional 33% above what was expected. Of course there was no notification that I had a breakthrough, like you get when you manually train and get a breakthrough. Thus my attribute at 88, trained over and is now 89, at 1% trained. Bittersweet I guess. I had never had this issue with Auto Training before, but have had issues with manual training. Thought I had a solid plan. I have been Borted again!

Why wouldn't you get breakthroughs with auto train? I usually don't auto train esp when I am multi training but if I was I would want those breakthroughs still since it would seem that if you didn't get those break throughs if you auto train your dot would end up with a few less sk pts than if you trained manually making your dot a bit less effective.
It is a gamble on when you get those break throughs and to which attr you get them on. I tracked breakthroughs on a dot recently and the attrs vary on which one received the bonus when multi training.

many of us over the years have been screwed by unwanted breakthrus when we were trying to hit specific training goals via auto training.

Not saying I'm smarter than anyone else but I stumbled into this the same way Junkie did several seasons ago and thought it was common knowledge then (which means I didn't get the memo Again!) Anyways, I learned to check the training BEFORE it rolled over and pull the plug if I was close enough that a breakthrough might screw me over. Problem solved... unless I forget to check.

Your alg carries it over anyway so you go 98 to 99 is going to bring you to the same number in the end regardless... Or am I missing something?

It means +1 SP needed to be used instead of gaining +1 SP or more if used in a higher cap when rollover occurs (ie, rolls over in +3 instead of say +5). It can also mean you end up with 89 instead of 90 because of rollover coming before capping instead of after capping. Especially if your build plan is tight.
