And the ones that quit in the first 52 seasons would say the constantly changing sim.
People want different things. On one hand it's complexity and new things that intrigues some (HEAVY user), on the other hand it's very hard to learn and doesn't attract masses anymore.
There are just too many things to overcome the flaws... therefore there's nothing to do, but wait until the last dot turns forums off for good.
The only way to achieve anything current userbase wants: Community left around here should buy the game, start fixing & developing it again, JUST A LITTLE at least - and most of all, making it A LOT cheaper to play. Since it wouldn't be a business anymore, just covering server cost would be enough...
There could be at least SOME fixes / development going on again... like making a dot lifetime 6 months maybe (accelerated development). With cheaper price → larger n:o of dots per current users left, and maybe attracting some new users too.... I was thinking about full/half/third/quarter of a full roster here, with fixed cost, so You could form Your own team anytime You'd like, or with few others at least.
Ugh.
Are there any options to this kind of game, besides GLB2...?
we are all assuming warrior general games as a whole is making changes to, or developing any new games at all. They might be done, who knows. I dont follow mighty brawlers or the deuce anymore to even know if those get updated and tweaked. I know cornhole is still active at least on general forum, and he was the one that did most of the coding.
the coding on GLB 1 is so out of control im almost positive that's why it was abandoned completely. changing a % of a % skews things completely out of control and its not worth their time and effort to try to balance any changes. It's a snowball affect and not worth their time, so unfortunately there will be 0 changes due to this, but at least it gets people talking again.
i mean they never even wanted to try and implement any grease monkey scripts into becoming regular parts of the page, player builder, tweaked graphics, updated stats... this is it, this is what we have. The build processes is entirely too long to even make an attempt at trying to do something differently. 14 months to figure out even if you build 10 pass blocking linemen, you still wont stop interceptions. The best part about the changing sim was being able to try a different approach that thought outside the box... there is no box anymore, there's nothing to figure out.

WG made the collective decision that this is a niche game, that very few people are interested in. That is what doomed GLB1. From that paradigm, GLB2 was born. Every ounce of dev time that has been poured into GLB2 could have been poured into GLB1
nothing is going to change. bort is splitting time between his JRPG and GLB2.
WG just does not fully comprehend that this game has been around for damn near 10 years. There has got to be something here worth investing some time into. Until that thought process sinks in, nothing is going to change.
Everyone basically has 2 options
#1 - keep throwing money at a dead game, because it's worth it to you

... popped to my mind quite a few times. But might still be worth taking a look?

Yep. But ultimately, it's the same thing with Rubik's cube, WoW or any other game... At some point things get routine. Finding the balance would be the key, and if even small changes completely throws it over & up...

Most likely great idea. Not as complex as Real American Football simulation with all affected things... and easier to sell to a million kids, $1 / month.
