2. Make passing worth something again. Reduce n:o of interceptions
3. Penalty for very one-sided play-calling (over 80% run / pass offense)

+ Add some more randomness to simulation. Streaks, good/bad days, home/away advantage, weather, something...

yes plz

ok hear me out and consider it as a whole rather than a bunch of parts despite me writing it that way

Lack of Competition
1- give everyone 55 free dots, only charge for custom equip
1a- give everyone 2 free additional dot slots per season thereafter

Dot Lifecycle/Keeping Dots Involved
2- get rid of CPU players entirely
3- keep CPU teams
4- get rid of free agency - players are instead either on a CPU-owned team or a human-owned team, and being on a CPU team is the new "free agency"
5- upon dot creation, the dot goes into a queue/limbo whose only purpose is to funnel that dot onto a new CPU team once a team becomes available (players can train/boost/sign to a human team while in limbo, but this isn't expected to last very long anyway. see #6)
5a- human-owned teams can "opt-in" to receiving dots from the queue, but this doesn't affect the dot's ability to sign elsewhere. only teams that do not opt into the queue have their players bound to their contract

Scalability
6- have the system automatically create a new league & set of 16 teams once there are 55x16 newly created players in limbo/queue to land on a team. players can continue to sign onto human teams off of CPU teams as desired.
6a- to clarify: the queue isn't a queue, it retains no order and spits dots out onto teams randomly organized only by filling # of each needed position per team
7- expand conferences back up to 8

Reduce/eliminate dot randomness & league oddities
8- shorten postseason to 2 days - automatic awards still happen day 41 and merit-based promotion/demotion/shit happens at end of this
9- create an "offseason" season of 10 days in between postseason and preseason - this is the only time each season that people can create players, retire players, buy or sell teams, file their support tickets/request/etc, and do any kinda stuff if they have changes of plans before the next season. all new dots come with 27 or however many fkn training points is appropriate to keep things the same as they are now by the time dots hit day 1
10- shorten preseason to 2 days - nothing really happening here other than player movement (signings/trades) and training, aka a "last chance" for people to get their shit together. dots are no longer being created, that ship has sailed
10a- during this 2-day preseason, the admin team will manually create the last league, consisting of however many dots are left in the queue, plus a batch of the ONLY CPU players in existence, as needed to fill the league. they're honorably slaughtered at the end of each season.
11- lock-in ALL league rosters for 40 days on rollover to day 1

oh, and add some hard cap of # of free dots created by position for each account, or something, so there aren't 300 HBs waiting for a team. make the limit 1.5x-2x the usual amount of each position on a team.

oh, and perhaps let people create dots during the season, but they don't age and they differ in no way from dots created in the offseason, they're just in the queue "ready" for use next season

I don't really remember it being that unstable but I think that was when GLB had it's best year. The teams I was on people were super excited and coordinating was easier.

Anytime before the advanced AIs imo was good times

1 accelerated player development, 14 months of real life building is way too long.

2 team chemistry is not needed anymore collusion is impossible when you only have 20 (generous number) teams worth a shit...someone needs to fill the top level to be competitive.

3 allow boosting to 79 once you hit level 73. Day 240-280 is a damn wasted pointless bullshit season and it's boring as hell.

4. Balance the sim, s8 I slam is basically in full effect.

No you can't fill 1 pro league with all the competitive pro teams combined. That's a fact

IN no particular order
EEPL
Cobden
4th street
Hellas
Paris

NAPL
Steel
Burnside
Vicious Cirlcle

PPL
Dtown
Mojo

SLAP
American Muscle
BDS
WOMD
Muskrats

there are some teams that can compete, maybe you can fill 1.5 leagues but thats pushing it. Some team top to bottom wouldnt stand a chance of making the playoffs while most of the others would coast.

I don't love the sim, but I don't think it's a major issue. The only thing that would make this game interesting again to me, is to have a big user base again. As flawed as the sim is, this game is just complicated and very time consuming. If you had to explain to someone how to be successful in this game there's really no easy way to do it, because it takes so much to be a successful coordinator and builder. I don't know the answer to getting a massive user base again, but that's really the only thing that made this game exciting to me. Maybe GLB needs to put more effort in advertising, interacting on more websites, or whatever. Maybe have a team available to assist and mentor new members and help accelerate their learning curve so that they don't immediately lose interest once they realize how hard it is. Just focus more efforts towards helping new users ¯\_(ツ.)_/¯

Ironic. Used to have a huge user base. Then they simplified and we got cookie-cutter dots. Now... crickets.

you might still have a big base if they didn't create a second football game.

I mean it doesnt help that the sim is now stagnant. They said no more changes and they are sticking to their guns...I know as a coordinator one of the more fun parts of the game was deciphering the new changes and throughout the first part of the season learning to take advantage of those new quirks was fun. That isnt there anymore which is why there are so few coordinators anymore.

Then there's the dot problem, free agency is almost non existent anymore, which explains why pro is riddled w/ CPU teams now....

Day 20-40 used to be a very active and fun time, but we are lucky to get 3-4 FA threads even on day 20, hell there used to be 3-4 pages back in "the day"

I remember a lot of Crying and Gnashing of teeth when the sim changed.
