is this half decent? I never build WRs and i now have 5 that are all slightly different. Does he have to have carrying/strength for the anti knock loose roll or is this ok?

All CE/AEQ included:

Attributes:
strength : 6
speed : 100.38 = 155.38
agility : 78.38
jumping : 61
stamina : 60
vision : 90.38
confidence : 29.38
catching : 87.38
carrying : 26

Top SA Tree: | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Bottom SA Tree: | 10 | 7 | 4 | 5 | 9 |
Additional SA Tree: | 10 |

2x catch ball %
1x fake %
CE in fake %

*will drop jumping a bit in order to get conf to 40.

I've built a few WR. They probably all suck, but I try to get carrying to the second cap. I typically leave strength alone, and I've never seen nor built a WR with 90 vision. I'd be curious to see how well the fake abilities work with it. I usually leave mine in the 60's, maybe 70's

Interesting build. How much does vision help with catching the ball?

I'd prefer to shuffle your stats:

Catching: 90
agility: 87
Vision: 78

Though at least capping carrying would be better, and reducing vision down a cap or two. That and at least get confidence to 40.

you need to use all that vision to start looking for a retirement home

Fwiw... Vision on WRs isn't for fakes.

Catching is a 2 part system.

First part is like an initiative roll vs defender to see who gets to try 1st.

The catching roll is the 2nd part.

If the WR can attempt (and make) the catch first, then the CB doesn't even get to try an INT or Def roll

i have 5 WRs inrookie right now. all are going slightly different. this is the only guy going vision number to so i will be pumping it up to at least 85.

realistically i just want him to see the ball first so hopefully he can get an uninterrupted attempt at the ball. don't need some guy getting long TDs just a guy who can react quickly.

I go for 50 carry 30 str on receivers to avoid KL. If I build one with more jumping, I can only get strength to 20-25 and that has not been as good as 30. But, I'd always first cap carrying.

Your stats I'd swap are agility and vision. I think 60 vision is fine and 95 agility a better goal.

With 90 vis and 78 agl your dot will only be able to see his teammates get all the targets since he won't get open. Getting more separation with agility and fake shit will get you more uncontested targets and higher catch % than having high catching and vision scores.

Have you already built this? 78 Agility to too low.

I'm actually gonna disagree with most here, Prokop, because I think the overall build you're going for is more of a possession (with speed)... than a Speed (with possession). Vision helps with finding the 'open' area on the field therefore making him a more viable target to the QB but you'll need to use 'Creative' route running to make use of the high visibility. That said, not sure 90 isn't a little much. What about 85 instead? Should be more than enough to accomplish your build ideals without too much compromise and the extra can be put into Agility to help you use 'Creative' route running and get open for catches.
All that said, I don't know what changes you could make but I do agree that Carrying is way too low. Of all the skills that will give you problems, low carrying will lead to KL's and drops and fumbles when hit after the catch... and that's not a good thing at all.
