I have no idea why we can't do this...

It would be nice to be able to boost x3 each player (Per season) in decline to keep the player from having any negatives to his attributes.

Or you could just retire your player and build a new dot?

What if the dot wants to play forever though?

Dots living forever is the reason why some positions can't have free players. And why other positions because of that are harder to recruit.

I think the idea of purchasing seasonal extensions of Plateau for dots could be done. I'd make sure it cost like hell though. Perhaps something like this:

a 100 flex dot would cost 1000 flex for each seasonal extension.
a 200 flex dot would cost 2000 flex for each seasonal extension.
and a 300 flex dot would cost 3000 flex for each seasonal extension.

You could make a case for even higher flex costs for this. Reason for high costs? Simple. As Sonic pointed out, unretired dots count against the free player system and also create recruitment issues. Not to mention that this keeps teams from also recycling as well, causing no new dots to be made for the future. The added revenue could be used my WG to help keep the game going longer and, perhaps, even make other improvements. Still, I simply don't see WG doing ANYTHING at all as far as GLB original goes.

i would prefer to see plateau length changed by position. IRL, rb and wr mostly are done by 30, whereas QBs play into their mid 30s. other positions also play longer.

also, give paid players a longer plateau. give people the choice, longer career or free player.

the player shortage is getting out of hand

I would pay to keep some of my players around.

You'd prefer to pay the cost of making 3 players or more to keep one player around that is progressively getting worse?

I hate to say it, but HERO has a point here as to start over again takes a long time for any dot to become relevant which is why this should be a no-brainer as long as the agent is willing to pay more!

I don't disagree. They would have to be special dots for this to happen. I can think of a few that might be worth doing this with, especially if they are ones that decide games.

Insta-79-dots may be the key to revive ths game. Not saying it will happen but I think Building TIME is the real issue here. There are agents out there simply sick and tired building one dot more than a year in order to see him perform at the top level. And I believe it would bring back a bunch of old guys/veterans back to the game. I rather build a whole team over one weekend then spending over a year watching them slowly grow.

I know... now come the minors/pee we guys who dont like this idea and want to win in lower leagues. League structure could be easily adjusted to the old format with a:

WL

EPL
NAPL
PPL
SAPL

with smaller division teams below them like

EPL AA#1,EPL AA#2
NAPL AA#1,NAPL AA#2
PPL AA#1,PPL AA#2
SAPL AA#1,SAPL AA#2

But who cares, prolly won't happen anyway. So enjoy the good times here while it lasts.

if they were ever going to do insta 79, I think that they would have by now. people have been begging for it for years. there's only so many times the average person will repeat something before they get bored. they really dropped the ball when they left beta and pretty much abandoned us. they should have come up with new plays, archetypes, stadiums, etc every 10ish seasons. give us something to look forward to. for instance, I was surprised o find that I couldn't do a qb sneak from the gl formation. how is it possible that not every player has plays in every formation? there is so much more that could be easily done to enhance this version.

If a person wants to keep a dot around I don't see why they can't pay to keep them around. Instead of gaining levels they just erase the penalties...

Building dots used to be fun for me but now it's tedious at best. If I could keep my older dots around I would... Plus, if you could keep your dot around and then build a fresh one up with some changes you would be able to compare and see how the changes affected things.

Either way GLB makes money... Either start a fresh dot or pay to keep them around.

The main reason I can think of is the mess it would make of the HOF ( ). That and the revenue lost from both dots and teams recycling (which is why I posted to make it expensive as I did).
