Shouldn't my team not have been seeded as #1, if looking at the rules below???

If there are two or more teams with the same record, they are sorted via the following progression:
1. Head to head record amongst the other tied teams with the same record. This is 1-1
2. Number of points allowed (in all regular season games). Test - 30, Barrio - 34
3. Number of points scored (in all regular season games).

How does playoff seeding and tie breakers work? Link to this
In GLB, the top eight teams at the conclusion of a season in a particular league will move on to playoff play in competition for the league championship.

Seeding is determined by a team’s quantity of wins in their league.

Seeding is also used to determine home team in the playoffs. In GLB, home-field is always given to the higher seed. For purposes of the league championship game, home-field is decided by the following progression:
1. Regular season record
2. Points allowed (in all regular season games)
3. Points scored (in all regular season games)

This has been broken since they shrunk the leagues from 32 to 12 teams.

There are several similar threads in season's past almost every season.

That being said, it would be nice to get some clarification on how the tiebreakers actually work and get the information updated, or fix them to work as stated.

Yours is for a home playoff game (which at your level for building revenue for future use is important). In Casual Pro, a similar team was tied for 4th and is going to get demoted because of the screwed up tiebreakers. Since World League runs this place, it will likely take a WL team getting screwed and demoted due to the issue before it will get fixed. There is tie for 4th place going into the final week tonight. They split in the regular season, and are only 6 points apart in points allowed.

I doubt the code will get changed, but the rules could be rewriten. Just write in the rules according to whatever the code is doing (which is apparently team iD?)

Not sure about that. It may not get fixed for the playoffs, and it may only get fixed going forward, but if a team with the history such as HOOD were to get demoted due to broken tiebreaker logic, and if they were to file a proper support ticket, I wouldn't be shocked if it were fixed.

I filed a ticket (Ticket #132263) about 9 months ago when team I was involved with got boned and never got a response. Was a lower level team so I never pushed it any further. But when WL is so important in this game, and if a team were to be erroneously demoted, I am not saying it would be 100% that they would fix it, but I do think there is a chance.

I have always wondered if blowout adjusted comes into play

Test gave up 27 points in non blowouts and 3 in blowouts
Barrio gave up 24 in non blowouts and 10 in blowouts

That's an interesting possiblity. But I'm wondering if there's something "simpler" going on...

GLB might be using the international soccer model** where away-goals are worth more than home goals. In JanPony's scenario, the combined head-to-head scores totaled 17-17, but Barrio scored 7 at Test while Test was shutout at Barrio.

Similarly, look at Tulsa vs Gurupies in the EPL West. Tulsa got the 3rd seed over Gurupies. Each had 9-7 records, and each won their head-to-head at home. Despite Tulsa being outscored in those h2h games, and despite Tulsa ALLOWING MORE total points over the course of the season, they still got the higher seed. But Tulsa scored 23 at Gurupies while giving up only 14 at home to them.

** Note that in real life, Americans always display their scores/matchups with the visiting team on top (or to the left) of the home team, whereas GLB does the opposite -- the international way.

If anything i would think they would just find a way to get that team back into desired league....changing any code on the site....ngth

Thanks for the inputs, but I have been thinking the same as Cruzin about GLB are using the soccer model. That is a plausible answer.

It still would be nice to get some confirmation and the rules updated properly.

I may be confused by your theory as I am not exactly a soccer guy. If I am reading it the way I think I am , than in Casual Pro, Last of the Mohicans would be the higher seed over Shoreline

Combined Head to Head ; Mohicans 33-30
Away points allowed : Mohicans 20, Shoreline, 30
Away Points Scored : Mohicans 30, Shoreline 20

Mohicans win all three in that scenario, so not sure that theory.formula is right.

But in WL, unless a playoff team is gutting, every spot is spoken for.
