The only way that you can get 112 natural speed on a WR is to train above 100, and with 5 stars, you get 2% per normal training. At 4 stars or less, you still only get 1%.

Thanks, appreciate the info..

So its worth getting a training stat to 5 stars? I usually stop at 3 stars.

Only if you are trying to get one skill EXTREMELY high.

What is extremely high? 90-95+? Is it worth more to multi-train using 5* than exchange BT's for skill points? Or saving up those BT's from 5* to get the 4th piece of AEq.

All of the dots I linked had at least 108 natural speed, and 4 AEQ. If you're not going for something like that, 3 star enhancement is fine.

Generally, yes.

For a fair few seasons now, I've been been building using a mixture of 3*, 4* and 5* training enhancements (mostly 4 and 5). I think I swapped to 4* and 5* training enhancements after I started going down the 3 AEq build paths. When I was 4 AEq, I remember only 3* training enhancements being used. Lately I've been thinking about back to 4 AEq again and 3* training enhancements.

If you use up BT for 5-star training, that means that you will have to stop multi-training faster in order to save for AEQ. If you also go 4 AEQ, then that lops off another season of multi-training. I wonder to myself (under those conditions) if it is even worth it to 3-star any other skills. I haven't done any calculations. Just a thought to myself if the return would be worth it.

I've seen "good" build gurus suggest that taking any star-training past the 2nd-star (for a moderately high attribute) or 1st-star (for a bread-and-butter 3rd/4th/5th attribute) isn't a good use of limited resources IF the end goal is 4 pieces of AEQ (particularly if 3 or more of those AEQ pieces involve +5% SAs).

the problem with that is, if the goal is 4 AEQ then there's a significant amount of time spent doing light training.

https://s30.postimg.org/lc3b4dyg1/222.jpg

if those attributes can be trained on light while they're at from anywhere from 78 to 95 (which covers a lot of build room) then 30% training gives the best Roi

So you're first attribute probably won't qualify (by being above 95), but your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th attributes probably will.

IMO, if you're doing 4 AEQ then you'll want to get the 30%

If you're doing 3 AEQ, then 20% is the way to go, because you can hit your BT goals with a dose of Normal training...

For what it's worth, I think I've tried just about every approach to the whole 'star # system thingy' and after some successes (and many failures), I settled on this approach. I define which skills are the most important and put them IN ORDER from most to least (leaving off any skills you never plan of addressing at all... like kicking for a WR). Then, like Dave posted, I decide in advance what I want the end result to be for each skill (especially the primary) and pre-assign how many 'stars' I'm going to enhance. I can easily end up with my Primary being a 5 star, by secondary being a 3 star, and the other skills being a 2 or 1 star. On more balanced approaches, I'm like most and go with 3 stars for my top 3 skills... but I still might put 2 stars on some of the other lesser important skills. Prime example would be a standard O-lineman. I'd go with 3 on Strength, 3 on blocking, and 3 on agility. But I will also add 2 to speed and stamina as well, knowing I AM going to train those skills and I'd like the extra boost on that training when I do. By doing this IN ADVANCE (before I ever build the dot), I know exactly how many BT's I'll be spending on training enhancements so I know what I have to work with when I go AEQ shopping. Not planing the build is why most end up making a mess of it.

I have a WR that will make 108 speed. I spent the 19 SP to go from 99 to 100 and then trained it over, but no other training over 100. I had speed 3 star and everything else was 1 or 2 stars. I wanted to max out the multi training to get agi, catch, and stam high enough.

Here are a pair of super speed WRs up to level 32. I stopped on the same day for both builds, even though the second one needs a few extra trainings. The first one 3 star enhanced speed, and the second one 5 star enhanced speed. I switched from intense to normal training when the dots hit 94 speed, and intense training value was only 1% higher than normal training.

That's pretty good info there, Dave. especially for those that are trying to decide whether to build or to shop for AEQ. Because knowing the BT differential is the key to the whole show.
