I remember a few years ago, there was kind of a mini-fad of teams who used only running plays on offense, like aasahi's old Rush Hour team. (I had such a team myself for a while, the Palm Bay Palookas.) Is anyone still running teams like that, or did that fad die off?

Just curious.

(And no, I'm not back, whatever "back" means.)

Set the GLB win streak record at 115 last generation. Have a chance to break that record this go-around.

As far as plateau, last generation we won reg pro as L73s and then won pro, but only went 8-8 in WL. Although that was with dots that were originally intended to live for only 3 or 4 seasons.

This casual team of mine would be on a similarly long win streak but I forgot to set tactics against our primary competition a couple seasons ago and we lost a RS game.

Disastermaster has this casual team that won I think 80 in a row and then won 4 out of 5 casual pro championships last generation. That team just made their way back into the league this generation.

All in all I would say that yes all-run teams can still be extremely effective if built correctly.

Better question, has anyone built a running stuffing defensive team only and is that effective?

that would be a great way to stop an all running team, but against the other 99% of teams that pass... not so much

in theory I suppose, if the run defense team could sneak into the playoffs, and was up against run only teams, then it could work

theoretically, most teams could do both. use AEQ to stop normal teams, but set the normal EQ to stop the run. then just switch to whichever you need that game.

Yeah, but you would lose valuable AEQ%'s, and still suffer some from having pass defense VA's

I think the only way you could make it work (and still not sure it would against normal teams - pretty much doubt it would work), is if you built an entire back of the defense (all LB's and all secondary players) to be KL specialists. The added strength and tackling on the LB's and secondary should be enough to stop the all rushing teams, but not sure you could get enough KL's to slow down passing games, and you would be missing out on those important turnovers (accept for perhaps a few fumbles, but INT's are much easier to get and more frequent).

The runnng-only teams are dominating the junior level casual. It's very disappointing and a sim programming flaw IMO. If no fixes are made I'm likely out of GLB. Been playing for 15 plus seasons and this is crazy. In real life the run only teams would be shut down by most quality teams with average defenses.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but I have never been a defensive coordinator since I joined GLB up until a couple seasons ago I decided to give it a try in casual. I also struggled to stop all rushing teams, but it only took me maybe 1 season or a few games to figure it out. It's doable with the right builds.

To be fair, in Casual, it takes at least a few seasons before the defense builds round out enough to be able to help in that. Rookie, prep, and even university in casual can be very difficult to stop an all rushing team. His team is prep now, and it is gonna be tough, but when they reach plateau, as long as he has the right builds, he should be fine.

True. I also was going to say I may have it easier since the Vancouver team he may be referring to has some proven success, so their builds may be a little better than the rushing teams I deal with. I probably wouldn't be able to stop Running-Gag if I tried
