MATT'S ROOKIE LEAGUE TWO POWER RANKINGS AND PLAYERS OF WEEK SIX

Week Six Power Rankings:
1.) Volgograd Black Army Damnation
2.) Cuyahoga Falls Armada
3.) Saskatchewan Black Bears (Most impressive victory of the week)
4.) Mekong Delta Force (Nice win propels this team into the Power Rankings)
5.) New Orleans Golden Kangaroos

Offensive Player of the Week:
(RB) EHB Hall -owned by rebelscum- plays for Boulder Blitz
rebelscum brought his two DOTS to the Boulder Blitz and nothing else. With only two non-cpu players on his team, rebelscum managed to score his first victory of the season. (RB) EHB Hall ran all over the Zig Zags and ended up with 350 rushing yards and 4 TD's. While this pick is sure to be controversial considering how outstanding (QB) Deshaun Simmons played today for the Volgograd Black Army Damnation, the committee was ultimately convinced that the day belongs to rebelscum and his (RB) EHB Hall.

Defensive Player of the Week:
(DE) Tabitha Bonner -owned by ibflounder- plays for Mekong Delta Force
After being crushed last week, Mekong needed a bounce back game and got it against the Westeros Gamers of the Thrones. Against an offense that threw the football 47 times in this game, Mekong needed to bring the pressure against (QB) Jon Snow and that is where (DE) Tabitha Bonner really shined in this game. (DE) Tabitha Bonner made 7 tackles in this game but more importantly sacked (QB) Jon Snow twice and hurried (QB) Jon Snow twice more.

Special Teams Player of the Week:
(FB) Raul Chin KR -owned by TheXman- plays for the Saskatchewan Black Bears
Wow! What an exciting game. In the 4th quarter with 1:12 left in regulation time and the game locked 35-35, the New Orleans Golden Kangaroos make the mistake of kicking off directly to (FB) Raul Chin KR. The New Orleans Golden Kangaroos should have known better as (FB) Raul Chin KR had already scored two kickoff return touchdowns early that day. Thats when this beautiful kick return unfolded and decided the game in favor of the Saskatchewan Black Bears:

(HB) Turbo Jones -owned by Thrashmaster- plays for Gotham City Crew
384.5 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns

Defensive Player of the Week:

15 Tackles, 9 Tackles for a loss and 8 reverse pancakes

Special Teams Player of the Week:
(CB) Chaka Khan 2 -owned by ibflounder -plays for Mekong Delta Force
In a game that was decided by a single touchdown, (CB) Chaka Khan 2 scored 2 second half kick return touchdowns and continually kept the Cuyahoga Falls Armada just out of reach in this game.

Halfway through the regular season we can now see which teams will battle it out in the playoffs, This looks to be an exciting second half of the season. As many as 5 separate teams can legitimately claim to have a chance for a gold trophy this year. This week's Players of the Week include two of the big uglies that mangle opponents in the trenches each week.

Week Eight Power Rankings:

3.)Cuyahoga Falls Armada (Still recovering from the ass-whipping they took from Mekong)
4.)Mekong Delta Force (Looks to be a real force in the second half of this season)
5.)Gotham City Crew (Nice win this week shoots them back into the power rankings)

Offensive Player of the Week:
(OT) Marquise Mason LT -owned by biggreg650- plays for Saskatchewan Black Bears
This dominant Tackle has been fighting to lead the league in pancakes all season. This week he anchored an overwhelming 405 rushing yard offense and made 23 pancake blocks. Players on the other teams refer to (OT) Marquise Mason LT as "The Big Grizzly"

Defensive Player of the Week:
(DE) Brussel Sprout -owned by Festus - plays for Volgograd Black Army Damnation A.D.D.
Good players need to beat up on weak competition. That is what Brussel Sprout did this week. 5 Tackles set the tone for his day. Add to that 3 hurries 1 tackle for loss and 7 reverse pancakes and its easy to see that (DE) Brussel Sprout had his way with the Storida Slate Feminoles offensive line.

Special Teams Player of the Week:
(QB) Danish Dynamite -owned by rimfalk -plays for New Orleans Golden Kangaroos
When you put your quarterback out on the field to return punts...that is a little unusual. But it seems to work for the Kangaroos. (QB) Danish Dynamite had 3 punt return touchdowns including the only score by either the New Orleans Golden Kangaroos or the Zig Zags in the whole first quarter.

Good players need to beat up on weak competition. LOL!

Offensive Player of the Week:
(HB) EHB Hall -owned by rebelscum- plays for Boulder Blitz
Boulder Blitz beat the Westeros Gamers of the Throne by one point this week in a 34-33 victory. (HB) EHB Hall rushed for 198.5 yards and 3 touchdowns for the day. The biggest game-changing play happened in the 4th quarter with Boulder Blitz trailing 20-14. That is when (HB)EHB Hall broke open this HB Slam for a 61 yard touchdown:

Defensive Player of the Week:
(CB) Cold Blooded 5.0 -owned by livebytheblitz - plays for Volgograd Black Army Damnation A.D.D.
The Black Army defense dominated the Zig Zags Offense. (CB) Cold Blooded 5.0 racked up 18 tackles and 14 Tackles for a loss. He even had a reverse pancake.

Special Teams Player of the Week:
(HB) Willie Axlerod -owned by nashbill 74 -plays for MIAMI ROADFROGS
The Cairns City Crocodiles matched the Miami Roadfrogs offensive touchdown for offensive touchdown all game long. The difference between winning and losing came down to special teams plays. In the second quarter of the game, the Miami Roadfrogs had back to back kickoff return touchdown and then punt return touchdown by (HB) Willie Axlerod. Those back to back special teams touchdowns were what was needed to get the Miami Roadfrogs their 35-21 victory.

Week Ten Power Rankings:
1.) Volgograd Black Army Damnation A.D.D. (Other top teams' losses have lead to Black Army's rise)
2.)Mekong Delta Force (Early Boosters...)
3.) Cuyahoga Falls Armada (Starting to get back on the right track)
4.) Saskatchewan Black Bears (Down but definitely not out)
5.) New Orleans Golden Kangaroos

Offensive Player of the Week:
(WR) MVP -owned by twincedar- plays for New Orleans Golden Kangaroos
The Kangaroos have the best passing offense in the league. While everybody is talking about the Kangaroos quarterback Drew Brees, the wide receivers deserve a lot of credit as well. (WR) MVP had 8 receptions this week for total of 148.5 receiving yards and a jaw dropping 5 receiving touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the Week:
(DE) Hugh Firefly -owned by armadafalls - plays for Cuyahoga Falls Armada
The Gotham City Crew came into this week determined to throw the ball. Gotham quarterbacks threw 60 times this week. The Cuyahoga Falls Armada defense needed to put pressure on the quarterbacks in order to avoid being shredded like they were last week against the Kangaroos. (DE) Hugh Firefly made huge contributions on defense. (DE) Hugh Firefly made 4 tackles and 2 tackles for a loss. But more importantly, (DE) Hugh Firefly made 2 sacks and a hurry.

Special Teams Player of the Week:
(K) Randy Gardella 3 -owned by ibflounder -plays for Mekong Delta Force
The Saskatchewan Black Bears are tough to beat. Mekong greatly benefited from (K) Randy Gardella 3's long range field goals in obtaining a hard fought victory.

Offensive Player of the Week:
(QB) Drew Brees-owned by rimfalk- plays for New Orleans Golden Kangaroos
As usual, the best quarterback in League Two absolutely decimated the opposing defense. (QB) Drew Brees threw the ball for 360.5 yards and 6 touchdowns

Defensive Player of the Week:
(DT) Austin Blackwell -owned by Mathias82 - plays for Gotham City Crew
The Gotham City Crew played in this League's first tie game against the Cairns City Crocodiles. (DT) Austin Blackwell thoroughly controlled the line of scrimmage making 14 tackles 1 tackle for loss and 9 reverse pancakes. With the game tied in overtime, (DT) Austin Blackwell made this all-important stop which forced the Crocodiles to punt away their last possession of the game:

Cuyahoga Falls Armada and Saskatchewan Black Bears both had similar drops after losses but the bounce back after big wins is equally dramatic
