I dedicate this season to Gerr, and showing me the way of taking any sort of game-planning out of winning and relying solely on builds... and inspiring my desire to show it for what it was.

I really don't intend to buy more flex on this game anytime soon, if ever, so I will be trying to keep my flex bank where it's at so I can continue to make lots of dots. Thus, I will no longer be boosting or buying CE on peewee dots.

I will be opening the builds for all of my players on DVD this season (which are much worse than I have since created in VPB [Refer to my upcoming guide release]) just to give anyone that wants to see them access before they are retired.

You took advantage of a hole in the current popular defensive builds, plain and simple. Not saying it wasn't smart to do, but with everyone building low Strength anti-pass DE's, you set your team up for for pure power rushing and went through those defenses like a hot knife through butter.

You were also one of the few teams to fully 3x boost, most of us were either no-no or partial. Your builds were nothing special, just designed for a power rushing attack with good blocking and little to no passing. Any fool can set an offense up like that, you just picked a good time to do so. Lets see how that style does when teams rework builds so they can handle a power rushing attack. Will DVD repeat on simply builds, my money says no!

Not mad, DVD found a hole and exploited it for a trophy, smart move on his part. He beat us fair and square, not mad about that. He had the better team this season.

But to brag about it like it was some major accomplishment and offer build advice was just him pumping his overly inflated ego and I am only bringing him down to earth. One championship does not make a great team/owner. A true champion finds ways to win when the hole they used last season is plugged. He knows that and knows he couldn't repeat now that the hole he used will be plugged with new builds, so is going no-no as an excuse...

Some Gerr guy posts builds and advice every season he wins anything. He sounds way more like a jack ass when he does it as well. Gerr's post season posts are pure brag and have a belittling tone where I didn't pick up any of that with Stoner's post.

Stoner was the better builder and coordinator this season. There were no smoke and mirrors involved. He was just that damn good.

I think Stoned is not getting due credit for his defence that shut down everyone else in the playoffs.

I said as much, he picked a good offense that exposed a hole in current teams build and won with it. Kudos to him! But to brag about it like he did and act like some elite offensive coordinator, that is what I was objecting to.

Yes, his defense was very impressive this playoff run. I give him more credit here than anywhere as it takes talent to shut good teams down without using any known holes. This is where his real talent lies.

Ok, now I am a bit confused.

But didn't elite teams start going to low strength DE's to exploit a hole found in o-line blocking or builds? Doesn't that constitute using a known (to a few) hole?

Yes, 10+ seasons ago, and even posted builds on it back then.

I don't know I can't find anything remotely posted like that. After a quick look at his offense it looks pretty elite to me. I ran and still run an offense like that except I'm not afraid of the forward pass. He controls ToP leading to less possessions and keeps his defense off the field giving the bad guys less chances to score. Everyone falls in love with the home runs while sacrificing ToP and getting themselves into and longs. Even with no/nos he should be able to pull of a few upsets with that kind of system.

Out of your 47 plays you were in 24 and longs.
In DVD 74 plays they were in just 12 and longs

This led to eight 4 and outs in 11 possessions to his five.

Those numbers are what his fully boosted defense did to my unscouted partly boosted offense. He had the best defense this post season, no doubt about that. He is a good DC and I should have scouted his defense instead of only his offense.

My objection was directed at his comments about his offense. Yes he took a gamble on a power rushing attack and it paid off, kudos to him on that. But to act as if he has created something special and brag about it, that was too much as any decent OC could create a similar offense, he just picked the right time to do so.

Everyone knows that there is no love lost between us, mainly due to him secretly screwing my teams in the past, I am sure on purpose using alt-id's. So I have little tolerance for his boasting when it's not deserved. His offense, while well timed, wasn't anything special that we have not seen in Gold many times before, but he was acting like it was, so I called him out on it.

He won the Gold championship by finding a vulnerability in most teams defenses and took advantage of it. Fine, many of us have done that before, myself included. What makes a great owner/coordinator vs just a good one is their ability to win again after the vulnerability they found has been plugged.

He said he is backing off now that he had a trophy, so part of my response is to egg him into going at it again full throttle, but this time knowing that the vulnerability he found is likely to be plugged. If he does and can win a 2nd trophy, then and only then does he deserve to brag like he did.

Why dont you two just buy a copper team on opposite sides and agree to do no boosting/CE and fight it out on the field

It's not just him vs me, it's him vs the known good PWG Teams, and the last time we tried to organize a no-no league, several of us got temp banned...

Today I don't think it would be too much of a hassle or temp ban as the lights are barley on so whos gonna care to much.

I will say this after doing it one season then announce hes is quitting and going no no team.I would think he would come back and want to dominate teams again to show he knew what he was doing not it was just a one time thing.I think most would get worked up trying to keep him down while he was trying to make it a repeat season.
just sayin
