I don't recall ever reading a discussion on this topic--my apologies in advance if I missed it.

Are the bars that appear in the player profiles standardized? As in, does a "Receiving" bar of a certain value for a WR translate a roughly equal "Receiving" bar of a TE or FB or RB?

Of course the same question applies for the "Blocking" bar--are the blocking bars for linemen, FBs, TEs, etc roughly the same?

I ask all of the above without any interest in applying out-of-position--I'm strictly asking for those dots that are playing their normal position.

I am guessing here so correct me if I'm wrong but you're talking about the 3 'Scouting Report' bars, right? If so then those bars are based more upon the combined Skill levels of Primary and Secondary positional skills than any one particular skill. So 'Receiving would take into account Catching, Carrying, probably Jumping and all that jazz that 'adds' up to a combined score of that dot's receiving ability as a whole.

Refered to as the "LoL" bars.

if you are looking at scouting bars, you are doing it wrong. the lolbars are worthless so only worry about the actual build.

LOL bar leading to a balanced player too soon.
Like the Punter training his tackle to increase the tackle bar,or worse dropping SP into it.

I've never seen a FB with a receiving bar.

As to your question, I just looked through a handful of dots, and with some very similar builds, the receiving lolbars appear to be the same across WRs, TEs, and HBs.

Blocking is not quite so clear. O Linemen have Pass and Run Blocking bars, while TEs and FBs just have a Blocking bar. I am pretty sure that the TEs and FBs have a consistent lol bar method, but I don't know how they compare to O Linemen.

Yes, that's the question I was asking--thanks for your answer.

If a player requires a non-star attribute you will be penalized in barland?

probably. my guess is that if bort thought that is was important enough for the lolbar, then he probably made it a primary or secondary skill

If I had to guess it would be a scat FB arch, Dave. I suspect that's the same for the TE position as well. A blocking TE would show a different set of bars than a receiving TE arch.

I would suspect that the 'bars' are based more upon a combination of the position AND the particular arch of the dot being built for that position. Example; I have a Power WR and a Power TE. Despite being the same archetype the WR shows Receiving and Carrying bars while the TE shows Blocking and Receiving bars instead. Since the TE position is generally more apt to be 'blocking' than the WR is, GLB chose Blocking over Carrying as the other bar.

Not so much penalized as not awarded. You get the most points for your Primary skills... a bit less for your secondary skills. But when you add to a 'non-star' skill you get nothing in the way of points (meaning your LOL bars don't budge). I know this because some of the arches I use have Jumping as a 'non-star' skill but it's important to my build so whenever I finally start pumping/training it up, my LOL bars don't move at all. They don't diminish... they just don't gain anything.

I've had the experience with the "strength" attribute in regards to the "receiving" bar. In real life, we all know that having more strength rather than less helps with knocked-loose, but I've moved the "strength" attribute past the first and second level-cap and watched the receiving bar not move at all.

I like shiny bars and some bars in packets and others that let me look at things that might otherwise mean I fall or drown as well.

Is it possible to have three majors hit 100? That would make some interesting bars.
