Might be one more shot for silver for us, so boosted the last three guys on the bench, and paid for my teams up front as I'm debating keeping my old guys on for another season.

I would have liked to boost all my non-rookie dots and paid for two seasons. But that would have cost me $275 and that just don't make sense, not in this economy or in this state of the game - not to me.

I would have paid $50 maybe.

As is, I think I'm all in.

Running on recycled flex from here on out.

I post this as an example of why Bort might want to consider loosening his grip on the flex rates...before all the sand runs out though the fingers.

Its just beyond over priced at this point. I get milking it for what its worth. But the cow is old. A little gentler handling may be better in the long run.

You do realize you have to pay all the miner's that mine the flex $15 an hour or they'll go to work at McDonalds.

I don't know where you get off thinking bort has any insight. Bort failed a lot in lif then he basically did one thing right iever which was the basics of GLB1. Then he mismanaged it to death and followed up with some derivative and unsuccesful fail sequels.

He's not going to figure out GLB after all this time

GLB is actually an amazing accomplishment. Small company online games that still have paying customers this many years after start up are really unusual.

Truth be told no matter what he did, the player population would have declined over time.

All I am suggesting is that at this point, he might make more money reducing price to chase after the reduced demand, thus bolstering demand that might otherwise dry up and blow away.

Yellow... hate to shoot down your idea but there's a big problem with you proposal from it's current point of view.
#1, flex costs are across board... meaning you purchase flex for ALL WG products not just this one. So changing the flex costs would hit not only here but all other GLB products as well.
#2, number 1 is important because that leaves only changing the COSTS here (for everything from dot purchase to equipment and boost costs). If WG went down this road, then they'd be creating a cheaper game here than in GLB2... which is their primary product now (sad, but true).

No company is going to undermine it's own product in this manner so the costs of things here aren't going to change.

I long ago accepted that this game (GLB original) is going to die. WG built new games to replace it... has virtually left it to just exist until people finally get bored or tired or broke and leave. Once it reaches a point where there's simply not enough people left here to justify paying for the upkeep, they'll give notice (I hope) and shut it down. Until then, enjoy the ride. I stopped buying flex for any reason other than to honor a commitment made to a team I'm building dots for. I've probably not bought more than 20 bucks worth in the last two years and have no plans on buying more. When it's gone, it's gone and so am I. If they close this place down before then, I'll probably give what little I have left to friends and head off elsewhere. Until then, I'm gonna enjoy the ride.

Point one is well made.

I guess point two would be a question of how well GLB2 is working for them, and how likely a cross over would be.

I suspect the latter is not so much.

Because in point of fact GLB1 is already cheaper than GLB2.

The lack of flex refund alone makes it so.

cheaper in the long run, but requiring more up-front investment

Why would it not be a good idea to charge $20-$25 for a PeeWee team per season? That would include AE and flex for boosting.

Users would be able to choose to play solo or up to four users.

Having the maximum User cut off at four would still ensure Bort a reward at the end of each season.

Having a set price per season would attract more single player users. At the same time making the games more competitive.

This formula would have GLB with a more steady and consistent cash flow and Users would not have to take it in the asshole with the current price scale.
