Been an interesting season for sure...at least we have some chatter and good games yet to come out.

I mean, I have ideas that will probably work, and I certainly could torch that defense if my receivers caught the ball in single coverage, and my all pass-blocking offensive line would step in front of his DEs.

The issue is hes still going to put up 35 points because of missed tackles and shit because he loaded up blocking WRs and without knowing he was going to do that I didn't put enough strength into my DBs (seeing as I have 6 on the field every play that makes me pretty much fucked) and unless AI beats him basically just using inside power runs instead of outside, nobody will.

Yes, I did put some Strength & Blocking on my WR's, but that is a gamble. If someone does shut down my rushing game, my WR's wont be as good in the passing game and that could come back to bite me in the arse come playoff time...

And you did miss a general trend of stronger slower rushers getting popular over the past few season and I am far from the only one doing that. I had to build my CB's, SS's, and FS's with more Strength & Tackling to counter that.

A one season length career just isn't long enough to counter all the possibilities you could face. If you catch a trend early on you might be able to make corrections by the playoffs. In most cases tho you end up compromising your own strategy in trying to do so.

Gerr always does quirky crap like train conf/sta/str early on and apparently is adding blocking now too. It doesn't always look pretty but his base AI's keep him in the playoff hunt until the builds are more rounded out and top notch players.

Now if you want to discuss the cheezy pee wee limitations like players being slow as molasses half the season and out of position so you run around them or weak as crap half the season so you pancake and break tackles all game long.... well Gerr has long since been the king of exploiting that.

Actually, Taz started the slow but powerful outside rushing HB or RQB. When I saw how well it worked, especially early in the season, I adopted it as well, but I am far from the only one who has.

Gerr has always had great builds but his defense has always had some big flaws. Does anyone bother scouting him? If you go in thinking your base shit is going to work against him you are very mistaken.

Gerr isn't known for his offense but I think he is a much better OC than DC. I haven't been around for a while but he always did a lot of screens and counters that were tricky to stop, near impossible to consistently stop. You have to make decent use of zones and don't be afraid to drop a defensive lineman back into a zone if they are not doing anything useful.

I totally disagree-Gerr has shut down some pretty terrific teams with his D over the seasons. He doesn't even try until the playoffs.

Try? He has had basically the same defense for 40 seasons. It took me like 5 minutes to set a game plan against his defense. His builds mature by the playoffs. I have played Gerr a lot.
