maybe you should make a forum "Sly and zz man insults" and keep this forum free of posts I don`t really want to look at anymore (no, I don`t read them, I quit reading after the third post)

On a more positive note: Uni elite: LETS GO!!!

Sorry and not my intention (this has dragged on from last season)

So.. The answer is, no, you don't have any dots that have anywhere near the accomplishments of a high-quality dot. All you needed to say. We already know your team is a disaster because you, personally, are a disaster.

Glad you mentioned last season because no one's fooled this time around by your huff, and puff, and then fall down coughing with a severe asthma attack while your team meekly loses YET AGAIN. GTFO loser!

I find this rather entertaining.

A nice change from the doldrums and general non-activity of virtually every other Forum in GLB.

For those who don't like it, don't come to the Forum. Simple

My team is on a short term build plan and it's a blast. I wish more people would do it because it reminds me of when GLB was new and more fun than just chilling for 5 seasons waiting for your dots to do something interesting.

While I could name numerous rather easy ways that GLB could be made much more fun, I don't think your suggestion is one of them. Most people want to compete against the best, which requires a long-term build approach. Because the vast majority of the top teams and best dot builders find it more fun to compete against top competition they are willing to be much less competitive in the early seasons. This leaves an opportunity for short-term builders like yourself to grab weakly contested early league trophies against weaker competition. But if, in fact, more people did it as you suggest, then those easy trophies would go away. If you really wanted to compete against more short term builders you could put your team in Pee-Wee Gold, which is the only active Pee-Wee league (since I count only 7 non-CPU teams spread over Pee-Wee Silver and Copper). The fact that there's only 1 competitive Pee-Wee league is, I believe, evidence that most people aren't very interested in building short-term and facing competition doing the same thing.

Yeah I know people aren't interested in building short term. My question is why not? It's a lot of fun. I wouldn't mind playing against other teams built for the short term. It would be great competition and fun. The game was originally about building your player, and before level 79 even existed, people built for the current season more or less. That was really the original thing that people liked so much about GLB, and that is why bort made GLB2, so people could return to that. I don't care for GLB2 that much because I like the building system of GLB1 better. It makes sense that people would want to go pro or WL. To me, competing in even competition at the peewee level, at level 30, at level 60 or at level 79 is all fun. They're just all different.

I DC a WL team and the team I co-own was in WL for several seasons, and honestly while it has some appeal, WL shakes down to this: 3 or 4 totally dominant teams that never make regular season adjustments because their rosters are so much better than everyone else's. 3-4 mid-level teams that struggle game in and game out to make the playoffs, and possibly one could win the whole thing if in fact they had a good roster but just a total lack of cares during the regular season. 3-4 teams that will only win games against each other and have no chance whatsoever of making the playoffs. Once you get over the allure of being there and start looking at what the experience is actually like, I'm not saying you don't enjoy it, but it's not so amazing that you can never enjoy anything different.

2 seasons ago I was like, I have about 200k flex and who knows how long this game will be around. Do I want to build another 30 players so I can wait a year for them to make WL, which is the same thing I have done about 8 times in a row now, or should I spend my flex and do something different and fun that I think I will enjoy? I chose the latter. We're in the highest level league that exists at this level so there is nowhere else to go.

I do understand that it would be frustrating if you are building long term to play people building shorter term (or maybe not? A lot of people building long term don't care about short term wins at all), but all I am saying is, 95% of people who build long term spend all their flex building or contributing to a roster of guys who will never do anything remotely interesting for about a year of real time, at which point they play out their career in Pro or regional pro because the team they are on cannot make WL. This is boring and pointless to me, especially in a game whose numbers keep diminishing. Why should I subject myself to this just because other people do it that way?

I second that, tpaterniti.
Actually, when I started GLB not too long ago, I looked at the time frame and thought: so, I will have to wait for 8 seasons to reach the promised land? Screw that... I am not the grind type of gamer, who laboriously (and patiently) works toward a goal that takes ages to reach. I want to have fun now!
My first team was horridly built and I recognized its fail at the Regional Minor level (I believe), the second one was much better, but RL screwed me up and I had to quit GL for some time. Now I experiment with different builds and boy, do I have fun (regardless of the missing competition up to now). I realize that many teams of the same age have dots that are not made to compete, even now, This is unfortunate, but why should I bow down to the grind of: but-this-is-how-we-do-it-here.
Having said that: looking forward to our short build match-up, tpaterniti
