Post your MVP screw jobs for this season. Yes, I know they have been going on forever. Yes, I know Bort doesn't care to fix it. Yes, I know there have only been 2 posts in GLB Main in the past week

http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/stats.pl?season=51&league_id=99&conference_id=0&stat=sp_teams&sort=kick_return_yards/kick_returns&playoffs=0&stat_type=adjusted

Toya leads the league in regular AND blowout adjusted KR Average, KR TDs, PR Average, PR TDs...and gets 2nd

At least you didn't lose to an offensive lineman with a few pancakes on special teams. That happens all too often.

I could post here but I've never had an issue with not getting MVP gear.

unfortunately, instead of the mvp being decided on the field, there are too many off field parts of formula. things like team contribution favors the stat hogs over balanced teams. level comes into play so that similar stats by players of different levels will favor the lower level. and the worst is the comparison against the same position, so if many hb are having great stats, but 1 wr is way above the other wr, then that wr gets a big boost to mvp.

and this is why i stopped making st players. altho its been better the past few seasons, so he may have tweked the formula finally.

Some guy in one of my leagues had O and K MVP but sold his team and retired them after we beat him in playoffs so I get an extra

Our Returner is not feeling all fuzzy right now. We. thought he was going to get the MVP but No.

What do they base Special Teams MVP on........... yards or TD's? Must be yardage alone cuz
our guy had almost Double the TD's . I wrote and asked and was IGNORED by Admin. Meh

I guess it doesn't work that way? That guy didn't get an MVP trophy despite being the highest one on the list when the season ended. The guy that was ahead of him wasn't even in the league anymore and got the trophy.

Hey, they fixed it as of last night. I'm happy to see your KR got it. Well deserved !!

I just looked and we almost had a Clean Sweep on the MVP for this season.

Our QB Bazinga got one, our CB Cam Ordway # 28 got one for D, your dot Shimmy & a Shake got the ST one but we
did miss out on the K one. Dang.

I'm happy they straightened things out with the ST.

Whether it's GLB or most other sports, MVP seems to never mean what it's pure meaning and intended meaning is supposed to mean. To me (and, I suspect, to a majority of people) it means Most Valuable Player... to the TEAM. Now, if it's meant to be 'To The Game'... then it's just a simple matter of Stat whoring so that you're the Barry Bonds (before the steroid issue) or the Michael Jordan... or the Tom Brady... ect. However, it generally means 'To The Team' so to be correct in that determination, it should be based upon what would the team look like without the player in question vs what it looks like with the player in question. If, without the player, that team would be significantly impacted in a negative way (imagine the Patriots WITHOUT Brady)... then you've got a serious MVP player there. If not (sorry to pick on Peyton Manning but remove him and the impact to the Broncos isn't that much of an issue)... then it doesn't matter his numbers... he's not MVP worthy.
For GLB, I think it's almost strictly a combination of stats (and stat rankings) and their 'lottery' system they put in in an attempt to stop/effect negatively people trying to stat pad and game the MVP gear. It'd be worse if it was a voting system like the Pros use. However, what it doesn't do is take into account just how valuable the dot is to his team... which is what the MVP should be about. (IMO) It's not perfect... which is why people gripe a lot about it... but it's not terrible either. I'm not sure how GLB could program it so that it takes into account much more heavily the 'team value' aspect.
