Forum > Goal Line Blitz > I need help with a Depth Chart issue

I have three QBs, the default depth chart is not allowing them to cycle, it will only allow the first one listed to get game time. I've double checked the advance settings, reset them all just to be sure. Tried changes to the three depth chart spots to no good effect, even tried emptying them and resetting then putting QBs back in to no good effect. I use packages exclusively so double checked those also. OH yet, I checked the presets stuff also, never use them but checked anyhow, nothing there is set. Any suggestions?

Yep, don't have 3 QBs on your roster.

Not much help. Especially since most teams carry 2 and his issue wouldn't even allow the second one to play. E, I don't have an answer either though. Sounds like you've covered all the bases but one. What would happen if you didn't put any QB on the depth chart? Wouldn't the AI be forced to select one from the roster and, possibly, vary it's selection? I dunno. But even if that works it'd be scary to think you'd possibly have your running QB in on a passing play.

Perhaps you have an alternate depth chart selected.....

I know you mentioned you checked your AI packages but check them again. You may already know all of this but don't forget you have 2 different settings in a package. The package has an override for all plays in the package (at the top) as well as an override for each play.

The problem you are seeing doesn't sound normal though so if you don't have an oversight problem in the AI packages then support ticket is probably the only way to get to the bottom of it.

Yea, I looked at that. Right now I'm making changes in the packages just to get the other two QBs into plays. A pain in the butt, but it's the only thing working.

Hmm, never considered that because I have never saved a second one, just used what I have there since I only have one offensive scheme. My ST Coach saves his, could that impact?

I just double checked the presets, none even created for O or D and none selected among the ST ones created.

It shouldn't. For the various teams I ST'd for I always saved a preset for the depth chart because of the stupid 'depth chart reset bug' that's never been fixed... and it was never an issue with any of those teams.

It's a little work, but you have 3 QB settings: QB, QB1, and QB2. Assign one QB to each setting, and then go thru your plays or packages and try to assign approximately 1/3 of the regular use to each setting

Was just gonna say this. Unless its a casual team.

By cant get them to cycle I assume you mean one has alot of plays one has some and another has little. Did you look at the summary to see if play count vs energy is twisted?

I had this problem a few seasons back when I ran 3 QBs. If you're using forced starters on 3rd downs, combined with 3 QBs ... that can very easily cause a wickedly lopsided distribution if you aren't careful.

Totally forgot about forced starters! Good call yep that can cause issues for sure

Did this as a temp fix, it's not perfect, sometimes Auto Adjust keeps one QB from getting much. Plus and far more important, it sets a pattern a good DC will use to eat a team alive so I have to go in and shuffle crap.

Nope, don't use force starters.

You know, DD got with me real quick, was even a holiday Monday when I sent a Support request in, got back that same day, but nothing since.
