Nope, beer and scotch when I drank.

This mamby pamby prissing around about fancy pants beers is an embarrassment to manliness.

Beer is NOT wine, but the breweries are making fools out of these hipster dopes by making them pay wine prices for it anyway.

Clearly you're too much of a woman to drink good beer. Look, if actual taste and a higher ABV is too tough for you to handle, that's fine, but don't hate on the people who have the balls to take on a real beer. You can keep drinking your piss water.

All aboard the cheap beer train that is still overpriced cuz Ontario blows but is also the greatest province.

Your problem is that you live in Canada. A six pack of bud lite costs about $7. I can get a 6 pack of local craft beer with much better taste and a higher ABV for the same price or a dollar more. The whole argument that craft beer is much more expensive than big beer is total bullshit. Sure, there are higher price beers like the one I linked previously, but for every one of those there are numerous craft options that are at the same price point as big beer. All it takes is being willing to invest the time to figure out your options and what you like. It also helps to pay attention to sales, which you will frequently see happen for local craft brewers.

People buying bitter treacle because its the cool thing to do are being hosed by companies that are over charging them - and laughing their asses off while they do so.

Hell half the "craft" beers are made by major breweries.

not your fathers root beer for instance is made in the same joint that made the Loko stuff. Its not even beer at all. And that is owned by Pabst.

Clearly you're poor. And uninformed.

Trying to claim that you get what you pay for isn't true is absolutely wrong. Sure, some products will ride the wave and provide shoddy quality for the price, but that doesn't extend to every product available under a certain label.

With craft beer, the amount of beer available that is truly of better quality far surpasses the crap.

And no, not half the "craft" beers are made by major breweries. Craft beer fans are fully aware that there are fakes out there like Blue Moon and Shock Top that are the big beer attempt to move into the craft beer market, but craft beer fans don't buy those beers. They can offer a nice stepping stone from lite beer to craft, but no craft beer fan would ever call them craft.

Craft beer fans are also fully aware that many craft brewers have been bought by big beer--Goose Island, Ten Barrel, Ommegang, Boulevard, and (most recently) Firestone Walker--but we also know that the purchase doesn't necessarily mean a decrease in quality. Hell, Goose Island was purchased by AB-InBev about five years ago and thus far their beers are still stellar. The purchase just requires the beer drinker to assess the post-sale quality of the beer and to consider whether they want to spend their money supporting a big-beer supported brewery or an independent brewery.

Your arguments are ignorant and ill-informed.

7.2 ABV $8.48 for 6 12 ounce glass bottles at the local HEB. Hoppy New Year!

Any of the Bourbon County series, though it can be difficult to find. Their Bourbon County Barley Wine is my absolute favorite Barley Wine and may be my favorite beer overall (though that can change based on mood/weather).

For their easier to find releases, the Ogden and the Muddy are really good, though neither will be around after this year, IIRC. Their 750ml Belgian series tends to be really good, though I don't like them for the price point.

I think the cheapest beer here for a 24 is $32 unless you live in Quebec. Ridiculous.

Can get a two four at duty free for 1/3 the price. That's how all beer should be. At least the cheap shit like busch and maclays.

Don't care for for certain types really. Can drink most beers besides the really dark ones like Guinness.
