For one beer? Not typically. I agree with Longhorn though, some beers are worth it. I'm around $18 or so for a bomber

It was worth it.

tbf, that's double the volume of a normal beer, and 3-4 times the alcohol content. $30 for ~7 normal beers worth of alcohol is p reasonable if it tastes great.

I'm going to assume that's American money. We can get six beers here from the bar for that or an entire 24 from the beer store for just $2 more.

True. I try to keep my beer costs less than $1/oz when I'm buying something nice. That one's a little bit higher, but with the ABV you're usually done after one.

Nope, beer and scotch when I drank.

This mamby pamby prissing around about fancy pants beers is an embarrassment to manliness.

Beer is NOT wine, but the breweries are making fools out of these hipster dopes by making them pay wine prices for it anyway.

Actually lite beer period is an embarrassment to mankind's decline in good taste. Good beer simply tastes better and just because a bunch of college kids who pretend to be beer drinkers because they can drink 15 watered down beers is the new American standard of what beer drinking is about.... I mean by your standards I guess buying a steak is also embarrassing when u could just order a shitty hamburger drenched in that nasty red sauce known as ketchup, u know the one they make to mask the taste of food so kids will eat it. C'mon Yello, ur smart enough to know u usually get what u pay for.

Don't hate on my 4.9% beer. It's $8 more to get to 5%. That's crazy talk.

All aboard the cheap beer train that is still overpriced cuz Ontario blows but is also the greatest province.

Before my liver told me that it would no longer process any form of grain alcohol, I managed to sample a huge diversity of various 'beer's from all over the world... Japan to Germany... England to Australia... about the only countries whose beers I haven't tried would be Russia and the middle east area. It's very interesting the variety of flavors depending on what was used (rice beer vs hops, stout vs guinness, ect, ect, ect). While I had several favorites I didn't ever have ONE that stood out far beyond all the rest to claim it as 'greatest ever'... but, like you say as well, I never drank a Lite beer that I really could say was 'awesome tasting'. Some were ok... Like Bud Lite was probably as good as Falstaff if not better... but I would prefer a good cold Sapporo or a ice cold Grolsch... even a Grizzly, over anything labeled 'Lite'.

The notion that you get what you pay for in trendy products is nonsense.

People buying bitter treacle because its the cool thing to do are being hosed by companies that are over charging them - and laughing their asses off while they do so.

Hell half the "craft" beers are made by major breweries.

not your fathers root beer for instance is made in the same joint that made the Loko stuff. Its not even beer at all. And that is owned by Pabst.

It is worth paying for great flavor and the uniqueness of craft beers is that there are many for all seasons and occasions. Some areas of the US has not caught on to the craft beer trend.
