Better everything but the sim. Lots of activity, regional pride, trading and planning. Simple ai as seasons progressed. No alliances. The world League made having groups of teams colluding together a must. Each season had 8 champions and arguments on who was the best. Every pro League was active. Now we have one active league and nothing else matters.

Being able to hit level 79 and the world League really turned this into a fun game of chess and strategy into a cookie cutter no one cares until world League and only one team is happy.

Agreed. There were starting to be more alliances/mergers though. The old A/AA/AAA Promotion/Relegation system was better as well.

Yes because eventually your team would be at the top and eventually your team would fall to mid pack. Nothing like being 3rd place and watching the top 2 leave making you the odds on favorite that season. Promoting and facing better teams each level. Now if you are mid pack you will be mid pack for a while and maybe never be the favorite with hope of a great season.

Very hard to find a team, forums were pretty active, but there were only a few of them, almost unmoderated. Trading was fun, everyone was involved to make money and their teams better.

I played from season 2 until about season 16. Was some great fun back then. I was considering playing again, it sounds like the community is sour on the changes that have been made over the years.

"The Bomber" approves this thread.

Had a blast in the old days in this game, and on the forums. Remember folks, the players make the community. If the forums are dead, it's because you aren't breathing life into them.

That's the one thing that Sir William and I did back in those days - we created an environment on the forum for whatever league we were in.... and are thinking of doing so again.

But what's the difference between GLB and GLB2?
