Because the leagues have been condensed, and there are only 3 rounds of playoffs, we technically only need a 38 day season to get everything done now. However, all of the build models that have been developed, and GLB's XP and VP tiers are designed around a 40 day season.
What is GLB's plan to address this?
If consideration has not yet been made, I believe that there are several options to explore here:
Option 1
Play championship games on days 37 and 38, teams can scrim on days 39 and 40 while developing players earn those last couple of days worth of daily XP. Off season goes through day 48 as usual.
Option 2
The first two rounds of the playoffs occur as they always have on days 33-36, days 37 and 38 are idle, and championship games are played on days 39 and 40. This is similar to a different football league that adds an extra week before its biggest game, so that the teams have some extra preparation time. Off season goes through day 48 as usual.
Option 3
End the season on day 38, and simply give two days worth of daily XP to developing players. Off season goes through day 48 as usual.
