apparently forcing fair catch after fair catch got boring, so my stopc started taunting the returner. never seen this before.

Yeah... I agree. But you seldom see the ball bounce like that. Generally it takes a couple of short bounces instead. Still cool plays though. :twothumbsup:

Actually it happens all the time... just not exactly like that. Anytime the ball hits the ground on any form of a kick, all defensive dots stop where they are and don't move until either the ball stops moving... or it's touched by the opposing team. I saw it happen the first time on kickoffs and screamed at the screen because it's a LIVE BALL and therefore recoverable by the kicking team (like an onside kick would be). Instead, the damned dots just sat and waited for the returner to get to the ball... then they continued on. Exasperating.
As for the punt(s) the OP posted, I suspect the punter is set to max hangtime and not yet strong enough to kick 70 yard punts (I could be wrong). Therefore the kick is short... the returner holds... the ball hits the ground because the defense will NEVER touch the ball until it either stops or is touched by the returning team... which the returner does... and then gets nailed.
