Its hard enough to care about the lolregular season, so go ahead and scrap a round of real cares dotball in the playoffs and that will keep the masses happy.....

Smaller leagues and closer rival games or not, im 99% sure this whole league contraction idea was not fully ironed out?

The OP brings up a valid point--tons of builds (and the mechanisms that tons of people use to assist with those builds) are based upon a 40 day season, 8 day offseason, and 9 day preseason. That totals 57 days on a regular cycle.

Whatever changes are made shouldn't screw with this--it could be the straw that broke the camel's back, particularly for builds-in-progress.

A shorter season would be fine, just give 6 training points on rollover to the first day of the off-season.

The guess here is nothing will be done. Days 39 and 40 will remain. With nothing. No regular season game. No playoffs. Just nothing. No player cuts. No ability to send contracts. Just nothing. Or as WGG calls them, customer appreciation days.

they should get rid of the day 41 freeze and just freeze days 39 and 40. 3 days of not being able to do anything is truly going to suck

I am sure Bort thought of everything that these changes would effect and planned accordingly. No doubt in my mind that he didn't just half-ass another change and forget about anything else that the change would effect. No way that has ever happened or ever will.

Since all dots are subject to the change, no unfair advantage will be had, so it just doesn't matter.
