Seems like a good spot to post this. . . Hopefully (unlike last season) I have time enough to continue these throughout the end of the season.
Dave's round 1 playoff predictions!Alpha Conference:
(8) Hellas Hoplites @ (1) Ljungskile Mighty WolvesThe Mighty Wolves won the regular season match up with Hellas by a score of 62-7. They put up almost 600 yards of total offense, and limited Hellas to -2 passing yards. If Hellas can find a way to get the offensive MVP Breaking Bad going, they could have a chance to control the clock and squeak out a win. I just don't see that happening. Wolves win big again.
(7) Dirty Sanchez Gurupies @ (2) Johannesburg JackalsDirty Sanchez scares the hell out of me tbh. They have some great builds, and a ton of WL experience running the game plans. The only thing missing from this team is cares. If they decide to try, I could see them going deep into the playoffs, and possibly winning the whole damn thing. Lets just home they're too focused on WL to give a damn about round one of Semi Pro.
(6) Holland Pinoy All Stars @ (3) Legacy's LegionThis is going to be a great game! In the regular season match up, these two were separated by just 30 total yards, and 3 points (in overtime). I absolutely can see this game being just as close. In that game, the Legion HB Aces High had his way with the Holland secondary, catching 9/10 targets for just short of 100 total yards (and only one was a screen pass). If Holland doesn't find a way to cover that guy, it could be a quick playoff exit. That being said, I like Hollands ability to adjust game plans, and I think they find a way to win this one in a mini-upset.
(5) Choppin Broccoli @ (4) Annapolis Bayhawks A.D.D.Choppin had some great wins this season to climb into the 5th seed in the playoffs. Their win over Holland was particularly impressive to me. That being said, I don't see a way that they win this game. Annapolis won the league game 30-13, and we all know the Bayhawks tend to turn it up a bit come playoff time. Choppin had a season to be proud of, but I just don't think they have the firepower to beat Annapolis.
Zeta Conference (AKA CPU ConferenceDid Titsburg just lose to a CPU.....again? Hmmm. The T-Cats will face the winner of the semi-final game between Titsburg and Long Island. The T-Cats will win that game, and go on to the league championship. Someone should wake up Mad Skillz in time for the championship.
