Over the past few years, what part of GLB1 has brought you the most enjoyment from this game?

My favorite part has been either OCing and actually watching my gameplan hit the weaknesses I was aiming to exploit, or that feeling on day 41 when you look at the recruiting thread in the team forum and see a full list of quality commitments... or even rarer still that moment on day 42 in the evening when all of your commitments signed, and none switched teams.

What are some of your favorites? Or even some special moments you really enjoyed?

I remember once way way WAY back in like S12 my DE was on this team, the atlantic coast crushers. I think we were in the level 13 leagues or whatever 2nd season was before accelerated player dev. And I had built like a noob, 61 capping everything, most of our builds were crap. We were the 8th seed in the playoffs and...

sorry I'll continue the story in a bit, I just found out how to view unnamed retired players.

Look, this is the dot I'm talking about. If they've won a tournament, MVP, conference or league championship you can click the little icon on your homepage and it shows all of the dots that have ever won anything, including un-named retired players. They're still saved somewhere, all of our retired dots!!!

... we managed to demolish the first seed in a huge upset stunning the league forum. After that we met a team that my WR was on at the time, Warsaw Executioners, they were nothing to mess with, but my DE managed to get two huge FF's ontheir HB, both recovered by us, which totally crushed them in the 2nd quarter. Then we met the 2nd seed in the conference championships and our team pulled off a gritty defensive victory, we had lost to both teams during the regular season and the league forum was trashing the heck out of us, already talking about the 2nd seed meeting the undefeated team from the other conference in the league finals. And then it's us against this undefeated juggernaut in the league finals after having pulled off two upsets, and it was the first time I had ever genuinely cared about a team in GLB instead of just my players and my stats.

6 points were scored in that entire league championship. We held them to 42 yards. 42 frickin yards. My DE did nothing in that game whatsoever and I was pumped. So frickin pumped. That game and that moment have literally kept me playing this game... 6(?) years later.

It is still one of my fondest memories of this game, I think a lot of the new people now miss out on stuff like this. I built a terrible dot back then, but I still got to be a part of a league championship team with a story line worth following. I don't think new people get to do that anymore, and its a damn shame.

Anyways, what are some of your memories?

getting all the guys in the minors riled up. Have a few agents upset Sizzle won MVP and they can't celebrate with Texas.

also enjoy watching terrible owners sell their teams after trash talking for 2 seasons. thats always a good little glb laugh.

but my favourite memory was winning casual trophies a few seasons in a row as DC. Back when casual was fun.

Yeah, with all the self-promotion despite losing game after game and getting knocked out in the 1st round every season you guys are doing a reasonable impersonation.

Game-planning has been by far the most enjoyable thing to me. I live, sleep, eat, and breathe football. This game has offered me a fun little getaway from real life and still enjoy football.

I also enjoy talking shit. One of my favorite hobbies.

"S45 Rookie Thread", "S46 Prep #1" were not threads about Texas. Quite the opposite. They were threads attempting to escape your spam.

My favorite part is not having to use "1" in front of the name.

favorite part was playing with people like Ubasstards, Cobra Kai, Hood, Dpride, building teams with Elvis and then later Magic Mike and especially SLAP prior to WL rendering pro leagues meaningless. Had some fun with the addicts too if they still exist. Had quite a few great hours on this game with people some are still around, most are gone forever. So many it is impossible to mention all of them.

Honestly the game was never about football. It was about making dots that kind of resembled football and then trash talking each other all night long about how awesome a dot is. To me it was very little about the SIM and more about the community. It is too bad that game management never understood that.

Thanks for the hint on clicking trophies found my favorite dot:
