I signed up for this game seven years ago today. A lot of you did too, since it is mostly just us old timers left around. That averages out to almost exactly $1 per day, based on the flex I bought. I am not sure whether to or or

Thanks for making me curious.

$1.14 per day for me

Now I know what to tell the student loan people the next time they call and want to know why I can't pay them.

Youngster here. I have two more weeks till I hit 7 years. Probably can count on one hand the number of days in that time that I didn't log in. Sad Isn't it.

I remember my first player got cut a couple days after signing because I missed a day or so logging in. Now there are players on cruise control for months at a time.

174,800 flex bought over 6 years, 8+ months.
Breaks down to about 72 cents a day.
But man, $1,748 spent. I feel sick
Virtually all of that was bought from 2008-2011. Since then, only 2000 flex bought, and that was two years ago.

Really pisses me off when I think about the inattention GLB1 gets now. I get that they want us to go play GLB2 and quit this original. But my money is invested in GLB1. And my history.

The inattention on GLB1 makes sense if Bort had to go back to work for an established company instead of relying solely on Warrior General for his (plus his family and friends') income. After all, it's not like Bort appears to be as invested in GLB2 or MightyBrawlers as he once was here. Add in the shedding of support staff who used to be on the payroll and it sure looks like Warrior General has become a side project.

Can we really expect one developer to care about a game for 7+ years though? He doesn't really owe us anything.

not sure about $ per day yet....

I do know i'm about 11.35 flex per day tho... so i guess even at $1 for 100 ...

maybe $0.10 ? or so

kind of makes me feel cheap... until I think about what else I could have gotten

I was very hard core into Warcraft for a few years (through lich king)... that was $15 per month so that's like $0.50 a day... and Warcraft was easily 5 times the enjoyment... not to mention raw hours played

right now, I feel like I'm paying 10 cents a day to read some forum grumblings, spend some training points and maybe check a couple of game scores except for the 1 week that the playoffs are going

seems about right to me all things considered...

although if WG did do some kind of subscription with a large number of flex topped off every month for like $10 I'd probably do it

In my first 14 days:
5 Flex Purchases (3,200, 3,200, 2000, 1,200, 1200)
Created 10 players, bought custom gear for 10, boosted 10
Sold back 7 custom gear
Retired 3 players

7 years would be quite overstated, as Bort clearly gave up on the game prior to the exit from beta when development of GLB2 was in progress. I can understand that Bort did not like what GLB had become, but simply just "leaving the lights on" seemed pretty douchy to me. There were tons of suggestions that could have been implemented that made the game more enjoyable, but that would require them to work on a game they abandoned. We cant speak to their determination of why it was no longer profitable to keep working on glb1, but I would be willing to say the collapse in the game is more on their shoulders than it is for the reasons they probably believe, especially when you consider how booming things were for the first few years.
