Heard from couple friends about this possible implementation. Is it it true or just a rumor?
I think it's the only way to re-energize the userbase and bring back some old guys who were sick and tired of building a dot for 280+ days.

its actually way more than 280 when you factor in 16 days of offseason for 10 seasons

I think it's the only way for any of the current teams more than a level or two below pro to make it intact to the pro level.

get rid of regional pro, and allow people to boost from level 73 to 79 day 241 rather than at 280... then you will have more teams in pro all at the same level

Or get rid of the tedious leveling up and not watching replays for a year.

I have two reset teams happening in the next few seasons. Would love to just be at 79 and have pro competitive again. My team has lost one game all season. That's how bad pro is

i agree, so many changes can be done to revive things, i wish they would just seriously consider them

the problem they have with the instadots is that there is no official player builder, so they would have to do some sort of player builder to implement it, and that is just way more work than they want to do IMO. maybe its not true, maybe they are willing, who knows, but the feeling has been that the effort is just not there anymore for classic.

If a user can make a pretty solid VPB, I'm sure Bort could do it no problem. But I don't know anything about coding. I'm just assuming it can't be that hard compared to everything else he's done on GLB.

One problem I could see happening is top teams having a stranglehold on WL, but that could be counteracted a number of ways such as chem hits for changing out players, reasonable limits on dot's career at 79, or change up the league system to where everyone is in Nat Pro leagues, no more WL, and you have 2 tournaments for championships, similar to NCAA basketball.

1 tournament is for league championship, so 16 teams (4 rounds), and then a World Champion Tournament with all playoff teams, so 32 teams (5 rounds), with trophies for sweet 16, elite 8, and final four appearances and then trophies for 1st-4th place finishers.

I know, this takes up more time than current playoff system allows. This can be made up by extending playoffs into offseason days, having offseason go to day 52 and making preseason just 4 days, having early rounds of tourney occur each day and alternate days by region of bracket, teams will still play every other day this way.

Also, this allows us to do bracket challenges that can be set up just like league survivor (which we should have now for GLB tourney anyway) with flex prizes.

Nat Pro playoffs go to day 40. Day 41-42 round 1 of WL, day 43-44 round 2/sweet 16, day 46 round 3/elite 8, day 48 round 4/final four, day 50 WL championship and 3rd place game. 2 days of offseason, then new season starts.

Those who are out early have advantage over those who are in it late as far as offseason and recruiting go,

Now I know insta-lv 79s is a long shot to happen, likely never will, but if it was done I'd really like to see it be done this way. I think it allows for parity, makes Nat Pro relevant, allows more opportunities for trophies, introduces a new aspect to league survivor that uses the march madness aspects most like with a bracket challenge, etc. etc.

I mean, the current vpb for firefox or chrome is really good and it's a simple addition of a script to the site. I don't know much abut coding, but seems they could just make the script part of the site and then add a "submit" button on the bottom that makes the build official when you're satisfied with what you produced through the vpb.

I think the bigger problem will be how to charge for it. Flex is expensive, but not so bad spread out. But all up front makes for a very expensive dot. You boost a dot 10 times over his career. QB/WR/HB are most expensive at 300 each boost, so 900 each boost cycle, or 9000 flex for career, plus 1100 for ceq so just over 10k flex. which right now costs $70.

For 200 flex dot it is 7100 flex, about $55, and for 100 flex dot it is 4100 flex, about $33. In one shot that's a lot for a dot. Most at the start will try to make their free dots the expensive spots, as they do now, and demand for those spots should stay high given the cost, but the other spots are still expensive as an upfront cost.

Best bet might be to reduce the up front cost, but then charge flex each season to keep the dot going to make up the difference lost, but cost of flex each season to keep that dot reduces a bit, but so does the flex returned upon retiring, similar to how it is in decline. This would mean more 1-2 season dots, which will happen anyway early on as people fine tune/test stuff out, and also would mean more chem hits to teams and so more movement among top teams, so things would stay interesting for a time, plus financially it would be more beneficial to retire a dot after a few seasons as you have to keep spending flex and you get less back as seasons go on. Definitely would help keep parity in the leagues, and thus interest.

You could satisfy the masses and also be able to creat a level 16 dot that never ages for 5 straight season and bring back PeeWee competition too. Just saying.....more the better?

the problem is he didnt build the VPB so if he steals it hes stealing the intellectual property of an agent with no compensation.... but im not sure that applies here.
