If this game wasn't in a steep decline and they had a good sale, I would drop another $1000 so I could make some more powerbacks and try out some safeties

Precisely.

They should be encouraging more agents and more dots....

To do that... have some damn payment plans that are affordable and are realistic.

$5 bucks per season = 10 dots with 3 boosts each
$10 bucks per season = 25 dots with 3 boosts each + custom equipment
$15 bucks per season = 40 dots with 3 boosts + custom equipment

etc (just an example)

Also do away with the low level leagues and bullshit. No one cares about any league with dots lower than level 45+... The dots pre 50's are lumbering retards (I guess simulating when they were 6 year olds in pop warner?) Do away with the low level bullshit entirely. Give the dots 2 seasons of highschool (Varsity) (Start at level 40 with the SP's to spend) , 4 years of college, and 10 years of pros then offer a way to keep these dots from hitting decline for an additional 4 seasons or so. This would give an investor, at a fixed rate, something tangible to work with at a fair price that is more in line with the standard subscription based MMO's. It would also do away with the long, slow, build process before the dots are relevant. It would also probably solve some of the serious DOT shortages we're having at the moment... with pro leagues holding 6 non CPU teams on each conference and then a bunch of human owned squads with 53+ CPU dots.

Preach

Except for making it automatic to start at level 40. Let that be an option.

I do enjoy the build process and watching my little boys grow up.

LOL are you seeing what people are paying? Some guys are dropping $135 per season. It would be more like:

$35 bucks per season = 10 dots with 3 boosts each
$70 bucks per season = 25 dots with 3 boosts each + custom equipment
$125 bucks per season = 50 dots with 3 boosts + custom equipment

I remember I asked Matt McBriar to OC my team once. He was like, No one wants to OC someone else's team (???). All the good OCs are in WL and none of them would ever OC your team. So I kept asking around, got .spider. to do it, we designed a team for his offense, made it to WL and stayed for 3 seasons. But I'm sure that Matt fellow is OK too.

how many would you say is in a "some" ?

$125 for 50 dots w/ 3 boost each + CEQ is a bargain in today's flex exchange rate.

Throw in another 5 dots and team ownership and you got a deal !

i would still want flex refunds, but would settle for 40%

this is exactly the crux of the WG business model

I asked this question someplace else:

If you were trying to make $1,000,000 on GLB, would you rather...

A) find 100 people to spend $10,000

or

B) find 10,000 to spend $100

or

C) find 100,000 people to spend $10

currently, the WG official answer is A) when the answer that would benefit players the most is C)

The answer that is most sound from a business perspective is A. In fact, when you take classes on running charities, the first thing they tell you is that most people who need to raise $400 try to ask 40 people to give them $10 each or 80 people to give them $5 each, when in reality the most effective way to raise the money is to ask 2 people to give you $200 each.

Start reading on entrepreneurship and you will see the same principle, as you will be advised to basically price out most of your customers IF you can provide a product that a few customers who are willing to spend a lot of money will be willing to buy. I'm not talking about grocery stores and Starbucks, I'm talking about specialty products. The reason is that you simply make more money that way.

Even Starbucks does this. They take a mocha that costs about 37 cents to make and charge you $4.50 for it. They know that it will price many people out on a day-to-day basis, but enough people will buy it that they will still make more money than the other way around. If a mocha costs 37 cents to make and you charge $4.50 for it, even if 9 out of 10 people who would be willing to buy one every day at 37 cents no longer buy one at $4.50, you still make more money off of the one person out of 10 still willing to shell out $4.50 (in this scenario, 80 cents more per group of 10 per day). I know it's not all or nothing and that you can come up with prices in between the two extremes, I'm just giving an explanatory example of the concept.
