Well, if I missed you I don't know how. I spent about 5 hrs. on Day 41 sending out contract offers and PMing many. Came back on Day 42 and spent another 2.5 hrs., after deleting about 100 rejections.

I do realize this game has evolved, and I haven't always been as active as others, I didn't need to be told that was the problem. I'm very sure this game has lots of players who never even touch the forum link. If that's what it takes to have a successful team here, I appreciate DubJ's honesty in being straight up. I don't appreciate him running to my kicker to tattle-tale like a 13-yr-old girl. Very Uncool... Very un-Dub!

No offense to my kicker, I am going to play his 79/71 ass and I hope he can come through. But my retired kicker was 79/84 and deadly accurate... so big shoes to fill there bro.

Now this question of what kind of owner I am... I don't care to toot my own horn, but I think I am the best kind of owner. I want to surround myself with smart agents who know how to build a decent team and learn from them. I'm not a control freak, I don't try to boss people around and have my way, I am very laid back and expect you to know what the hell you're doing here. If I recruit you, it means I liked the build of your dot and thought you'd be a good contribution to the team.

Through the seasons, I've had some pretty awesome teams and worked with great agents... Suske can vouch. In fact, he took over ownership of the team when I had some personal issues that kept me away from the game for a bit. This is when I won the silver cup, btw. I don't even think I was online most of that season. Is that an omen? Maybe I do better when I don't play?

Going back to the OP, I was sympathetic that you were depressed and frustrated in your inability to sign players to your team. However with every post you've made me pretty satisfied by your difficulties. Just to summarize a little...

1. You called out a dot on your team, who you recruited. It's a kicker. A KICKER. Your top 20 problems on your squad are cpu dots, they are not your kicker, who you chose to recruit. You went to a bar, pigged up an ugly chick, then proceeded to tell everyone how ugly she was and they it is the bar's fault for having such ugly chicks available, that you were desperate enough to take one home. Do you see how this doesn't make people feel sorry for you? Ugly chicks are people too, no need to be a piece of shit after picking one up.

2. To keep on the bar anology, you cited in your OP you "begging" people to join your team. Again, this doesn't work. You don't go to a bar a beg women for phone numbers or to go home with you. People want to join a team where the owner is on top of his shit. If you want to own a team, you should be in control of that.

3. You asked for advice/tips but then reject and deflect from all advice and tips. lol, ok.

4. You call anyone who's better at owning a team than you an internet nerd loser and you are only bad because you don't have time due to you having a life. Lol, ok, nice stance to choose. I didn't spend 7.5 hours on day 41-42 sending contracts and PMing people, fwiw. I spent like 10 minutes sending contracts to people who all accepted them.

5. I haven't sent a contract that got rejected in like 30 seasons, if ever. Talk to people and get PM commits rather than spamming contracts for top-level dots. Stop sending contracts to every dot on earth like a desperate hobo hoping someone will give him $2 for a double cheeseburger.

6. You are very lucky husker's glb cares are not what they once were, such that he's willing to waste dots away on your squad, which literally make up half your team.

7. You just bragged about your L79 "deadly accurate" kicker

====

To summarize, you seem like a bad owner with no redeeming qualities. I find it rather satisfying that after 6 years GLB is finally able to aBORT you. Little moments like this are what makes the downfall of GLB so special imo.

The first thing to do is build loyal agents.

So post chit all the time on the team forum.
Avoid PM discussions, move 'em to the forum.
Somebody PMs you a question, move it to the forum.
Post stand out plays to the forum, reinforcing your agents' good builds and playmaking abilities.
Post build tips and other interesting stuff you see elsewhere to your team forum.
Post next season needs asking your agents to help find friends that have good dots.
Scout your agents for dots that might move.
Post like hell on your league forum: Post pre-season EL rankings. Post playoff predictions. GG everybody all the time.

In other words make your team interesting and your forum something your agents always check whenever they log in.

For recruiting start now.
Always pm the agents when you want a dot. Notes on tenders are cheap and don't show any effort.
And finally, do what Pooperdog does with Volgograd. PM other team's agents when their players do well against your team.
Tell them their dot is great, include the play link and as the season nears d.40 start poaching like hell.

EDIT:
I should have read WiSeIVIaN's post and all the others before skipping to the end and wasting my time with advice.
and I'm sorry pooperdog for giving away Volgograd's secrets.

You're going to have to find people who are still alive and who actually still play this game.
Best advice I can give.

I found it lulzy how he was outraged that I contacted the agent that he publicly bashed.

Exactly

My "recruiting pitch" is basically that our team forum kicks ass and I offer to send them an invite so they can hang out. These long PMs about "we gonna do this with our offense" and "i am good ownrar and do awsum shit" is boring and very few even read that crap.

Dots are almost always committed long before day 41. If you're serious about this then you need to start recruiting on day 20. Check Players Looking for Teams every day and focus on the ones that aren't getting attention from World League teams. You can then improve your chances by giving people a reason to sign with you. Maybe try a write-up after the games with some entertaining quips and links to some of the plays, as that would give you something to show free agents. If you don't have the interest in those things then your best bet would be to merge with some other owner who is having similar difficulties.
