2. Honest PMs about what you envision. If you can highlight active coordinators and your own activity in the team forum that is your best bet. 3. Don't beg people. I get PM's of people begging me to help their teams and feel sorry for them, which makes me go to zero cares very quickly. See my previous remark.

4. Any dot that doesn't choose your team, say nothing or wish them the best of luck. I tell them to go fuck themselves. Actually had several people change their mind and sign with us afterward.

5. Plateau rosters living on free agency is DEAD. I am the poster child for an independent team doing PLFT recruiting, but that time is dead if you want quality dots. To survive you need to either join a network (any worthwhile aren't looking for more teams honestly with the dotball shortages at-is) or start making farm teams every 3-5 seasons to fill the majority of your free agency needs. Networks are shit.

Also Natty pro has become such a shithole, many people with dots are in "wl or retire" mode, which doesn't help your case since you don't even get a chance at those dots.



Are there still networks around? I mean even the shitty one's are gone now.... right?

nah. i usually post game recaps and yell at everyone. that usually gets some good responses and gets everyone telling me how bad i am and how much they wish they didnt have dots on my team.

and yet, they keep coming back season after season for more chatter.

I'd take a BJ, or an HJ or even a ZJ. If you don't know what a ZJ is you can't afford it.

True that! Completely forgot about ZJ, I'd take that over the others any day!

recruiting has always been a bitch unless you know a lot of people. to do it well, here are my suggestions:

1) join some forums and make s0ome friends

2) always put the team above your players. if you put a bad dot on a team, few people are going to think that you are serious about winning, and lets face it, these players can get expensive.

3) become an expert at something, then help those that know less

4) when recruiting, its all about the player, not what they can do for you. tell them how you will use them. And don't lie. once you get a rep for lying, its over. when it comes up that you cant actually do what you said do to circumstances, kiss their ass and do your best to make things right.

5) its ok to sign dots that aren't perfect. try to use them creatively. as they build better dots, they'll stick around more.

It's depressing as hell to log in and find another 27 contract rejections and maybe one subpar kicker accepted, but that's how it has been for my team lately.

I've tried PMing the players who have plenty of dots, they just ignore me. I've spent countless hours messaging each recruit's agent to literally beg for them to sign... still nothing. And this season it seems there are fewer dots on the market... so what gives? Is the game dying? Has everyone settled in on a team and there's just no mobility happening?

Any ideas on what I can do to gain a few active players who have the dots to help build a better team?

This game is depressing now. It's a shell of what is used to be. Just looking at the leagues page depresses me: only 1 league per age level when there used to be 5-6. That tells you there just isn't many dots to choose these days. Also, hopefully you aren't waiting for dots to accept/reject before sending more offers. Make use of the "no oversign" function and send out mass requests to acceptable dots. I usually get people pm me saying they can't sign because there's not enough room. Should have accepted sooner.
