After a pretty predictable Round 1 of the playoffs (I went 7-1 in my predictions), we are looking at possibly as many as 2 competitive games, in Round 2. The winners in this round are headed to World League, it’s that simple and there’s not a darn thing anyone can do about it. Unlike in the past, there is zero chance that a “CPU-to-be” team is going to win the Championship or advance to WL, unless of course there’s something one of these owners isn’t telling us.
So here’s to Round 2 of the Pac-Pro Playoffs!
#1 Seed Matchups
OffTopica Word (4) @ The Cult of Personalities, Wu! (1) – Bye Week
This one just isn’t going to be close..at all.
Christchurch Fighting Maori(5) @ Razorback Nation(1) --
In their regular season matchup CFM pulled out the upset to defeat RN. We saw this last year in fact, when WSR beat RN in the final game of the season, only to not get the opportunity of a rematch in the Post Season. This season CFM who pulled off the same feat, will in fact get the opportunity to duplicate their former success. In a 4 point victory CFM found a way, they ran for over 200 yards and 4 TDs despite 2 Interceptions thrown and two missed FG’s proved to be detrimental for RN. Really it comes down to this, in order to repeat their first results, they have to eliminate the turnovers, for RN to win this game they have got to score points when given the opportunity and they have to contain CFM’s Rushing Attack.
#2 Seed Matchups
Dublin Dragoons (3) @ Arkadak Deadliest Warriors (2) –Bye Week
This one won’t be close either.
$in City Syndicate (3) @ Williamsport Soul Reavers (2) –
In their first meeting, $C$ lost by 25 Points after getting a 10-0 lead in the 2nd quarter. $C$’s passing game was completely shut down, albeit barely existent in the first place and their rushing attack was limited to just over 100 yards and 1 TD. Both teams were hindered by missed tackles as well. Moving forward, WSR has to protect the football and wrap up their tackles. $C$ has to gain some sort of offensive attack in this game and come up with a couple of turnovers.
