LOL, you guys. If you're sure GLB Classic is really so much better than GLB2, what's the harm in someone trying out both to find out for themselves?

Dude... most of us have. to be fair, I didn't really stick around for a real long time but... I also kinda didn't want to. I like this engine better... even if it needs help it's still pretty good. My only issue with the whole damn mess is burnout. (because this game no longer changes enough to keep me interested.) And just going to GLB2 isn't gonna solve that since it's not nearly as manual (hands on) as GLB1 is. Here I kinda gotta check in almost daily... even if it's just to be sure things are going the way I have them set to. There it's much more auto-pilot and I just felt myself loggin in and then wondering why.
You guys gotta know when you built GLB1 that you built a game that is highly addictive to us OCD types. The amount of minutia you want to engage in is entirely up to the player but you can get damned deep. GLB2 is NOT that kinda beast and, frankly, is a bit boring to many of us. Those remaining here (in GLB1) are probably here because they're a bit OCD themselves... even if they won't admit it. And those very same people aren't gonna find GLB2 interesting enough to make them stay... so they come back here... as I did.

This is 100% true. Except for me i am legitimately interested in this game. 100%. Coordinating and owning a team keeps your interests high.

Guys here have the same argument at which is better Playstation or Xbox consoles, most the guys in this thread do both GLB and GLB2, but they have to have a semi hard on whenever someone asks about GLB2... Best thing I can tell you is what Brian said, you have a free player on both games, use them both, play both games, or play whichever you like better, don't let these nut jobs dictate what you do.

Can you give us 55 free players, that way new users will think the game is really active and we just wont tell them we have 55 free players?

nope

Didn't sell a team. Transferred ownership to a GM. Two very different things.

I'm not knocking anyone's preference, just laughing at the guys opposed to the idea of someone even trying 2 to see what they think of it.

Well, that's what people do at 2.0. Newbie asks about this game and the losers at 2.0 are all like "omg takes like 15 years to build a dot and game planning is too hard. avoid game at all costs!" and shit.

No. I'm saying I think it is silly if someone else cares whether you log on and try GLB2.

I play 2.0 but this is still my favorite of WG's games by far.

My opinion matters cuz I am kind of a big deal.
