tl;dr but try going to your tactics calender on your team tactics page and from there you can activate the AI you want in for every game, thus insuring you have your gameplan in every game.

I did that for my teams last game (played today) Shows that my DAI ran in the tactics calendar, but the replays show that it didn't.

hey guys, relating to the OP, I'm the owner of the team. Just wanted to thank RyanCane, Marbro, AC, and Wise for their help and/or offers to help.

I ran through this with builderbob last night and, for the regular season games, the correct gameplan was being called, but not the right play selection. We went through the AI and found the hole, so it's all fixed.

For the beginning of the season scrimmages, it was definitely calling a different AI, so the logical suggestion was the one you guys had posted - that the default scrimmage AI was set to something other than "no preset". But nope - when I went to that page, everything was "no preset". I'll run a scrimmage in the next couple of days to see if it's still happening. if it's all set, then we'll chalk it up to a user error of soem kind. If it's still running the basic AI instead of our "active" AI, then maybe there's a bug where the team used to have something in the default Scrimmage AI and when the team changed hands, the value in the database still holds that value but the screen says "no preset". Or something.

Regardless, just wanted to thank you guys for your help and responses.

update: builderbob had already run some scrimmages today, and everything is fine. so either user error or there really was some bad hidden value with scrimmage AI, and my messing with it last night overwrote that value. who knows?

generally speaking, most still hanging out here are quality peeps that'll give you good help when asked.

Thanks to everyone out there for your input. When we (Nexill & I) went to the Find Scrimmage link / My Options tab, the page was clear, no requests of any kind. Out of curiosity I went through all of the drop downs then hit the update button just on the off chance there was something hidden I couldn't see, and things have worked good since. Whether that did anything or not, I don't know, but it kind of reminds me of the time the doctor asked my father if the medication he had prescribed was working or not. My fathers reply was " well, it's either working or the damn thing just decided to get better on it's own."

Thats actually interesting.

I had a problem a while back where our OAI was flat wrong for scrims and reg games alike. Did everything else...checked the defaults, changed the defaults, thought we tried everything we could. The only workaround was to specifically assign every game (scrim, reg, whatever) to get the right AI to playout.

The ultimate "fix" was to delete the AI that was being loaded despite not being set as the default. Once that happened, the default AI started working again. So yeah....weird stuff.
