Pac-Pro Playoff Preview

Southeast Asia

1. Dead Presidents
· The Dead Presidents are notorious for only running the football but do not let that fool you into believing that it’s going to be easy to defeat them by simply limiting their rushing attack. It’s like the old saying goes “Just because someone doesn’t fight doesn’t mean they can’t fight.” Just because they don’t pass the football often doesn’t mean they are incapable. More importantly, you also have to perform offensively against their defense which is not an easy task in any regard. This may actually finally be the year they make it into the final four for a trip to WL.

2. Palembang Royally Drunk Monks
· PRDM is so close to being the best team in SEA, but it always seems like they’re a little bit short on their ability to score points, especially against teams such as DP. I genuinely believe they will make it into the 2nd round of the playoffs, the question is do they have enough talent on their roster to make it into the CCG?

3. Cult of Personalities, Wu!
· Very much like DIG did last year, CPW started out slow, they have gained a ton of momentum recently and have not looked back. They are my favorite to meet Dead in the Conference Championship Game.

4. Springfield Isotopes
· Gotta be real honest here, I have about as much faith in you getting to the Conference Championship as I have in my lottery ticket being the big winner. (That’d be about 0%) I’m not trying to bash you but I’m also sure I’m not telling you something you don’t already know, riddled by inactivity and decline, this team is simply not built for a playoff run. I fully expect to see you in the “Divisional” round however.

5. Arkadak Deadliest Warriors
· I’m not real sure how to feel about ADW; I think they’re better than those ranked below them, but I don’t think that actually means a whole lot either.

6. Malaysian Madness
· As much as I hate to say this, like the teams seeded beneath them, they are here because of the lack of competition within their conference. I’m not giving them much of a chance in R1.

7. Colonial Marines
· CM has so much potential, it just hasn’t blossomed yet and there is zero reason to believe it will this season in R1 of the playoffs. They have become yet another Playoff Product of poor competition.

8. OffTopica Word
· At this point, I’m really surprised OTW even made the playoffs, with a stronger conference, they would have had almost not shot at doing so. They have less than a 0% chance of escaping R1 with a victory.

Oceania

1. Razorback Nation
· RN, as I originally projected has finished the Oceania Conference as the best team in that conference, I still believe they are the best team in the league.. Now, if you believe that then their Week 16 finale might have you feeling differently in regard to WSR; none the less, they are the #1 seed and absolutely the favorite to play the home side of the Conference Championship for Oceania.

2. Williamsport Soul Reavers
· WSR has had an incredible season, over the last three seasons this team has gradually gotten better and better. This season might just be the best WSR has been since the days of OPL when they had Zsirvone28 as their Defensive Coordinator and were putting up very comparable statistics as those that Captain Kaos has brought to the team. They have corrected many wrongs that have plagued them and going into the playoffs, they have to be one of the favorites for the Conference Championship Game; they’re not immune to being upset, we’ve already seen it, but coming off of their biggest win of the season, the confidence level is going to be through the roof.

3. ***Official*** Football Guys
· OFG has faced warranted criticism this season for some of their losses; some of their wins have been really impressive and then some of those losses have left us scratching our heads. OFG has maintained one of the best offenses in the Conference, especially when running the football and it’s an area that I believe they’re really going to have to lean on heading into the playoffs.

4. Stockholm Black Death
· When the season began this is a team I had tabbed as potentially the rival for the #1 spot in the conference; now with losses to RN, WSR, $C$, & OFG; I do believe they’ll make it out of R1; I don’t believe they’ll make it much further. What they do have going for them is that they are ranked Top 10 in every statistical category in the conference. However what they do not have going for them is that they are not ranked in the Top 4 of any of those categories, the most important of which might be Offensive Points Scored. Marion Lucky & Jake Whyler III are going to have to carry this team if they are going to make it to the Conference Championship or beyond.

5. Bow Chicka Brown Cow
· If there is a Dark horse for a R1 upset, I believe it is BCBC. I don’t really feel like they had any ‘bad losses’, in fact the biggest loss they had was actually to WSR by 18 Points. Their win over OFG might just have been their most impressive and that’s not a statement anyone should take lightly.. they made OFG look like a pop-warner squad. I’m saying it right here right now, you’ve been put on notice… R1 Upset Alert!

6. Christchurch Fighting Maori
· CFM has had a very shaky season. They pulled an upset against WSR that kept WSR from clinching the #1 seed in Week 16 which could be significant, but they’ve also had very big losses to teams like OFG, Sumatra, $C$, & SBD, heading into the first round of the playoffs, they are probably the team that has most outranked themselves. The question is, is the regular season a true testament of who they are? Or were they smart enough to know that they could ‘back pedal’ their game planning just enough to still make the playoffs and catch people off guard in the post season? Time will tell, I have my own theory on that.

7. $in City $yndicate
· $C$ has been in somewhat of a downward spiral as of late, finishing the last 5 games of the season 1-4. Heading into the playoffs, I can’t say I have high hopes for this $C$ team that has disappointed in all of the last 2-3 postseasons. Having said that, they are also very capable of pulling off an upset.

8. Sumatra Seahawks
· Really I have to be disappointed with Sumatra, once again I pegged Sumatra to be better than they have finished this season, unlike last season however they did not allow it to come down to the final game to determine whether or not they got into the playoffs, they handled their business. Their backs are against the wall so now we’re going to find out what they’re made of. To me, they are the team most unlikely to leave R1 with a victory.
