Pacific Pro Week 13 Showcase

Due to the lack of competitive games in SEA this week instead I’m going to give a short summary on their games and a small sample of expectations moving forward.

All of the relevant teams in SEA will win this week:

PRDM – Coming off of a punishing loss, they have a bye week against HoO, depending on the results of other games they could move back up in the power rankings.

Colonial Marines – Going to be trouncing the Rejects this week of course. I feel like this team is always on the verge of being something special, they just haven’t turned the corner yet.

Arkadak Deadliest Warriors – While they have a bye week this week, I’m not real sure what ADW is. They have had a very …odd season honestly, I felt they could be one of the better teams in SEA and I suppose record wise they are, but they really haven’t proven that in competitive games. It’ll be interesting to see what they do in the playoffs.

CPW – I’m not shocked at their turnaround at all, what I would be shocked about is to see them finish any less than the final four of the playoffs. They’ve got a solid bye week against Word, unless of course OTW takes that as an insult and pulls an upset

Springfield Isotopes – You’re probably lucky that you don’t face anyone worth mentioning for the remainder of the season outside of Cult which you’ll more than likely lose to. Because the more competitive games you play, the lower you’d find yourself in the rankings.

Malaysian Madness – Really looking forward to seeing what this team can do next season. No matter how WSR’s season turns out, I’ll be paying attention. They’ll make the playoffs but I think they’re going to be a 1st round exit, I just don’t think they’re ready to match up against some of the other SEA teams ranked above them, but they’re a worthy adversary.

Dead Presidents – I’m not even the slightest bit shocked that they’re undefeated, what would shock me is to see them make it to the Conference Championship. I dare you to prove me wrong

----- Going to keep this going with some of the Oceania teams

Forsyth County War Dawgs – FCWD is definitely among my biggest disappointments this season, paraphrasing here I was pretty much told I was wrong for not putting them in my preseason write up as a relevant team. To this point, only CPU teams have been worse.

Kosovo Kryptonite – This week the Marshmallows go up against FCWD in the ‘gutter bowl’ that’s pretty much all it is as KK is also on my list of disappointments. This is a team I had high in my Power Rankings at one point in time and they have plummeted ever since. The only reason they would be in a Top 20 list is because there is that many CPU teams below them.

SBD – Like many others they have a bye week this week, they could move up depending on what others do in the power rankings. They’re really trying to convince me they deserve more respect, I’m still waiting for them to earn it.

Sumatra – A bye week for these guys as well, they continue to truck forward and compile wins, this week will keep them in the hunt for the 7th or 8th seed, for now; they could improve upon their seed positioning in a couple remaining games with wins.

Oceania

Christchurch Fighting Maori @ Offtopica Immortals

Primarily this is in the show case of game matchups because of what a loss would mean for CFM. Listen, OffTopica is a Network of teams that I really respect, yello1 is among one of my favorite agents in the entire game, since the days of O-Pro; really, he knows his stuff and there is not a lack of effort in any level of this network of teams. They just haven’t lived up to what I had hoped this season. I don’t give them much of a chance to win this game but hey, miracles happen all the time, no pun intended. CFM just can’t turn the ball over and give this team opportunities that they wouldn’t otherwise have gotten themselves.

Prediction: CFM 105-14

$in City $yndicate @ Oregon Ducks

Oregon is among the Top 3 teams in Oceania that I’m most disappointed with but they’ve found a way to stay alive to this point. They’re a lot like DP in that they like to run the ball pretty much exclusively. This week they’re facing a very tough $C$ team. If I’m being completely honest, I sort of expect this game to play out like the WSR/Oregon game did. Here’s the real issue, $C$ has the #2 Run Defense, which is the strength of Oregon. When Oregon played WSR, WSR’s Run D was ranked #1, while Oregon had success on the ground, it simply wasn’t enough and statistically speaking they’re terrible throwing the ball (but the truth is they just don’t do it very often). They’re going to have to broaden their horizons if they really want a shot at beating $C$; $C$ just has to come in here and not turn the ball over and not miss tackles against a stout rushing attack. This could be the loss that puts Oregon out of the playoffs or the win that gets them in.

Prediction: $C$ 41-35

Bow Chicka Brown Cows @ Razorback Nation

I wish I could sit here and spout off 3 paragraphs on how the Brown Cows could win this game but it’s really this simple, you have to play a perfect game and force RN into a situation where they don’t. RN is the best team in the league until proven otherwise and I don’t think that’s a stretch at all.

Prediction: RN 65-17

***Official*** Football Guys @ Williamsport Soul Reavers

OFG is coming off of a statement win over $C$ and looking to get another one here. Against $C$, despite victory, they did fumble the ball, Drawings put the ball on the ground and rushed for no TDs. Their primary rushers have combined for 9 fumbles on the season so far and those are just the ones they lost, not all the actual times they’ve put the ball on the ground. Another thing that continues to plague them is missed tackles, especially by X, All Sorts of Awesome, and Levi Allen who all had 3+, it was actually a surprise to not see Robin JT Hood miss a few. Das Boot II also missed a 50+ yard FG against $C$; so there’s some issues that exist , things that they’re going to need to button up this week. Having said all of that, OFG is a very talented team and it would not surprise me a bit to see them pull an upset here. WSR has been very good this season and in fact at points in this season they’ve been absolutely dominant. However, they haven’t really played an opponent quite like OFG yet this season. Despite OFG’s chemistry issues, I actually think that OFG has the advantage on the road to get the job done.

Prediction: OFG 44-21
