Southeast Asia

Springfield Isotopes @ Palembang Royally Drunken Monks

First and foremost a warning; the results of this game will likely determine who is sitting at 11 & 12 in my power rankings and who actually makes the leap (or doesn’t) back to the Top 10. The one competitive game SI actually played this season, well, let’s just say it was embarrassing; if you want to consider the Marines better than I’ve currently got them rated, then I’ll give them 2 competitive games, one of which they barely one and one of which they got blown out. It’s pretty simple here, if you intend to beat PRDM, you better bring you’re A-Game, because in every phase of the game, PRDM is the better team.

Prediction: 63-10 PRDM

Oceania

Christchurch Fighting Maori @ Razorback Nation

Can CFM pull off another upset like they did against WSR when they shut down the entire offense of the opposing team? Razorback has shown very little weakness this season, in fact their first game of the season was their closest score. In that game, against PRDM, the Monks were able to force two interceptions and hold the passing game without any scores, they were also able to get 1 fumble recovery via a fumble by Impossible is Nothing. What ultimately killed PRDM however was the 3 rushing TDs and a Kick return for a TD in the 3rd qtr by Impossible is Nothing that went 93 yards. The story of this game ultimately is, create turnovers, limit the ground game, avoid giving up momentum changing plays such as KR/PR TD Returns, if you can do that, CFM, you have a legit shot but keep in mind, all of that still wasn’t enough for PRDM to beat Razorback Nation.

Prediction: 35-14 Razorback Nation

Sumatra Seahawks @ ***Official*** Football Guys

Both of these teams are coming off of tough losses, one worse than the other; far worse. Sumatra needs this win even more than OFG does; right now at best OFG is fighting for the #2 seed in the conference, I mean they could get to the #1 seed but…RN would have to fall off the planet imo; Sumatra is fighting to remain in the playoff hunt with CFM and believe it or not, Offtopica Immortals in the hunt, though in reality, CFM is already in, so it’s really just OTI trying to push one of them out, which is frankly, unlikely given that 4 of their remaining opponents are currently ranked in the Top 8. Still, Sumatra is trying to flat out close out the discussion on whether they are a playoff team or not. If they can win here, they would likely do that. Both of these teams have been up and down on my rankings all season, it’s time for them to establish themselves one way or another. Against their opponents in Week 10, both of these teams scored 17 points, both of them had their running games shut down and committed turnovers. So it really seems simple with this game as well; establish a running game and don’t turn the ball over and you’ll win this game. Which of you are capable of doing that?

Prediction: Sumatra Seahawks 20-17

Bow Chicka Brown Cows @ Williamsport Soul Reavers

BCBC got a very nice win last week; WSR has had an interesting last couple of weeks, they got upset by CFM and then completely embarrassed Kosovo. WSR’s rush defense has fallen off a bit, now ranked 6th, however in every other category in the Conference, they are still ranked Top 4. BCBC however might be able to take advantage of that rush defense sort of tapering off, as they have the 5th best rushing attack in the conference. They also are going to need to find a way to get the passing game going, currently ranked 13th in the conference, which is pretty bad when you consider all the CPU/Not so good teams in the conference. Against Kosovo, WSR gave up almost nothing yardage wise at all. Despite 217 passing yards which isn’t mincemeat, they secured 3 interceptions; the highest rusher against WSR by Kosovo ran for 30 yards, which was pretty much nullified by the 21 yards that Jiminy Christmas lost. BCBC had a very similar outing in the running game both offensive and defensively, however they did give up a passing TD, did not score one themselves and did throw an interception. Both of these teams are gonna have to show up to play football; WSR is going to have to find a way to slow down Natrone DeTrane, Bessie “Sugar” Johnson, & Teenage Mutant Ninja Cow who all had 80+ yards on the ground and at least 1 TD. It definitely seems as though in this matchup, defense vs. the rushing attack is going to be a determining factor, but don’t fool yourself into forgetting to cover the receivers.

Prediction: BCBC 24-23
