Pacific Pro Week 10 Preview

To be completely honest….if I wrote anything about SEA this week, it would be forcing one’s self to talk about a game that frankly, I don’t foresee as competitive…we’re going to call this an “Oceania Week”

Win Predictions for SEA: notable games
OFOTD over 1%ers 66-24
Yo Mama over Alabama 28-21
Dead Presidents over A.R. 75-10

Oceania Conference

Underdog Game of the Week

$in City $yndicate @ Williamsport Soul Reavers

While it’s gotta feel weird, the underdog in this game is not the visiting team. Sitting at 8-1 $C$ has everything going in their favor, with a strong win over Newfoundland last week, their running game continues to be a force. Defensively they are strong but if you are going to exploit $C$ defense is likely where you’re going to have to do it. WSR has beaten most of the teams they should have and they have lost to two teams that they probably shouldn’t have. There’s definitely a question about how good their defense is because lately, it hasn’t looked great. With the missed tackles continuing to pile up, frankly, I’m not real sure how WSR can possibly slow down the running attack $C$ is going to bring to the game, but if WSR is going to win, that is what they’re going to have to find a way to do.

Prediction: $C$ 65-13

Risers Game of the Week

Asmara Freedom Fighters @ Newfoundland Roughnecks

This game could be exactly what I’m telling you it is, two teams on the rise within this conference. Asmara & Newfoundland have been underrated by me this season but with things coming together, finally, for Newfoundland, they could grab some surprising upsets. They played a tough game last week against $C$ but ultimately they were done in by an onslaught of missed tackles and a turnover to boot.
Asmara is coming off of what, to me, might be the most impressive victory of anyone in the conference this season, against LA Resistencia. To me, the advantage certainly lies with Asmara but even in a loss here, Newfoundland could show the rest of the conference exactly what they’re made of. A loss either way would not put these teams out of commission for the season, but it would put much more pressure on Newfoundland to win the majority of their remaining games. Asmara might very well be looking at the easiest remaining schedule of anyone in the conference, so this game is not going to be a determining factor for the playoffs, if we’re assuming we need 10 wins to get in, Asmara is already in the playoffs with 2, possibly 3, sure wins remaining on their schedule.

Prediction: 35-14 Asmara

Outback Game of the Week

Razorback Nation @ LA Resistencia
Razorback is still rolling strong this season with their only loss against Whatever. Their offense, undoubtedly their strength, has really been rolling, especially their passing offense. Defensively they have done a great job getting to the QB and pulling down interceptions. LA is coming off of a somewhat surprising loss to Asmara, but as the league’s pecking order starts to reveal itself, LA has gotten knocked down a peg but not knocked out. Like RN they have a very strong Quarterback and passing attack but they also have a solid rusher in Ray Pierce; not to mention that Formi Kick is a perfect 24/24 on the season. They too have to done a good job getting after the QB and creating turnovers. I suppose this game is going to be more about who throws the final punch than anything, expect this to be an absolute slobber knocker!

Prediction: Razorback Nation 35-31
