Pacific Pro Week 6 Preview

Southeast Asia Conference

Middle of the Road Game of the Week

Addicts Relapse @ Mount Krakatoa Eruption

Each of these teams have the ability to sneak into the playoffs; with the quality of the conference they are in, it is really hard to gauge just how good they are. Neither of them have beaten a legit team yet, however, they have beaten the teams that were expected of them. What does that mean? Well honestly I have no idea. This week should be one of the closer matchups they’ll have this season, it should tell us quite a bit about who they really are.

Predcition: MKE 35-10

Yo Mama @ Palembang Royally Drunken Monks

In reality, perhaps this could have been the game of the week, however, I chose to go with a bit more of a “less than obvious” game this week, and possibly a more competitive one. Frankly, I could care less about overall records at this point, based on what I’ve seen this season and in the past, PRDM is the best team in SEA imo. They really haven’t faced a challenge yet this season. The thing that really kept this game from being the GOTW is that YM has not beaten a single competitive team this season. I don’t really see how that changes this week.

Prediction: PRDM 95-0

Komodo Game of the Week
Alabama Tidesports Crimson Tide @ OFOTD 45 Extra Skill Points 44 (aka get a smaller team name )

Really like this as the GOTW, Hcreek’s team is one that hasn’t really been put on display this season and I think he’s more than earned the right for it to be. Same can be said for Alabama, Both teams have lost ‘competitive team’ games and beat down other opponents, so this game should really reveal what they’re both made of. OESP has been running and passing at will and has done a great job defensively to create turnovers. In their wins, Bama has also been firing on all cylinders. Both teams in their losses, have had struggles both offensively and defensively. So in this game I think it’s going to come down to which team has the better overall talent, can either of these teams establish a level of dominance against the other or is this destined for a 4th Qtr showdown?

Prediction: 17-14

Oceania Conference

Sumatra Seahawks @ LA Resistencia

Sumatra has had an up and down season thus far, they are coming off of a 2-Game Win Streak against Cryptic and OTM; Last week’s game wasn’t even close, despite not having any form of a real running game, they torched OTM for over 400 yards and 3 TDs to win this game. Unfortunately for them, this week it will get much more competitive when they travel to L.A. LR has blown out all but one of their opponents (Legacy) and they have been extremely efficient, both offensively and defensively. If they can control Sumatra’s passing attack, they could be on their way to a 6-0 record to keep their undefeated season going.

Prediction: L.A. Resistencia 35-28

Asmara Freedom Fighters @ Dallas Paladins

Asmara has had a very good season with only losses to Whatever and RN. Dallas has steam rolled pretty much everyone they’ve played thus far. Asmara’s rushing game has left a lot to be desired but their rush defense has not. Their biggest drawback is efficiency. Dallas seems to have everything rolling right now. Bottom line here imo, if Asmara hopes to make a game out of this, they’re going to have to find a way to shut down Dallas offensively and make them one dimensional, on top of that, their defense is going to have to force some turnovers.

Prediction: Dallas Paladins 65-21

Legacy’s Huntington Beach Surf @ Newfoundland Roughnecks

This here is my “middle of the Road” game of the week; Newfoundland was a team I thought would really take care of business quite easily last week, they proved me wrong. It’s not even that they didn’t play well, it’s that they didn’t finish well. Morale really killed them in the end. Legacy is a bit of a different story; They have played 3 different types of games thus far, one against a “middle of the road team”, one against possibly the best team or a Top 2 team in the league and one against LA, an upper tier team; they’ve lost all of those games, they did however win two others that they were expected to. The team that loses this game imo, may not even make the playoffs, yes that is a prediction. They’re both going to have to show the ability to protect the football and create a better running offense moving forward.

Prediction: Legacy 21-20

Razorback Nation @ Bow Chicka Brown Cow

Razorback actually surprised me this week when they lost to Whatever, it’s not that I doubted Whatever being good, but it’s that I genuinely thought RN was establishing themselves as the best team in the conference, perhaps the league. That is no longer the case, that doesn’t mean they’re not one of the best, because they are. However last week they could not protect the football, throwing multiple interceptions. BCBC is a team that has me scratching my head, frankly, I don’t know what to think. They’ve really only won a single “competitive” game this season, against Sumatra, the rest, they’ve gotten beaten, so in this game…frankly I’m just not even sure if they have the talent to win. If they’re going to turn their season around, this is where it starts.

Prediction: 63-14

Williamsport Soul Reavers @ KC Metro Choppers

Williamsport has been a team thus far that has had a couple of middle of the road victories and an easy win. Their won truly competitive (Top Tier) game they’ve played, they lost to LA. Now, that’s not to say that for their talent and chemistry level that their other games haven’t been competitive because they have been and they’ve prevailed. Far be it from me however to try to convince you they’re ready for the big time. They had competitive games against Cryptic, Newfoundland, & OTM, they got destroyed by LA. Now, KC is one of a different animal it seems, I’m not going to lie, I’m really shocked by their performance this season. I feel like eventually thinks are just going to click for them, perhaps it’s this game right here. Their only win is against an SEA team, a competitive one but none the less. The odd part is that their losses are against 4 of the teams that frankly, I had tabbed as some of the best in preseason, however, two of those teams have proven me wrong, considerably. LA & RN both decimated KC, which is nothing different than what will happen to WSR (or already has), however KC also lost to DIG by 32 points and Newfoundland in a very close matchup. It’s really hard for me at this point to say how good KC is. They’ve really struggled to get a running game going, but against a team that has missed a lot of tackles this season, I think they get it going; frankly, their success probably depends on it.

Prediction: KC Metro Choppers 20-17

Dirty Island Gurupies @ Whatever

Talk about a team that has fallen from grace.. Hopefully their win against KC was a bounce back type of game but the biggest problem with that is this….this week they face the 5-0 Whatever. I’ve predicted against Whatever pretty much all season, sorry guys, not happening this week. With the utmost respect to DIG, who I genuinely believe is better than they’ve played, with their lack of running game, I just don’t see how they are going to slow down Whatever. Last week Whatever absolutely embarrassed Razorback nation, securing 4 turnovers and blowing them completely out of the water. This week..isn’t going to be any different imo.

Prediction: Whatever 75-13
