In all seriousness, players level faster now and get more skill points, while the training system may also have changed since you left. It's a good game, but there is only a tiny fraction of the userbase left and Bort quit working on GLB a while ago.

Welcome back. Receivers can't break tackles and interceptions are far more common place than they were previously.

Oh, and Bort stopped working on the game.

I hear alot of talk about people leaving the game, the game is dying...etc... How bad is it actually? I left 2 years back and people were saying the same thing back then. Who took over Borts role?

It's actually true this time, but it's not as bad as many people make it out. The game isn't going away in a few more seasons...there are still enough people around who are enjoying it that it should still go on for awhile, I think. But it is definitely waning...each season sees a few less people, the leagues are slowly but steadily shrinking, etc.

The sim is stable and very solid, which are both very good things in general. Interceptions are a little too common, without a doubt, which has led to a lot more run-heavy (or run-only) teams.

No one took Bort's place; it was simply left open, and Catch was let go. Euchrid is occasionally around and answers questions, but generally there is no official involvement anymore at all.

The big issue that spurred all of this was the release of GLB2. Some users went over to it, some stayed here, and a very small population (it seems to me) does both. It is a very, very different experience. I tried it and didn't particularly care for it, though the defining moment for me was after finishing the first season and winning my league, I paid flex to renew my team, and even set the default checkbox to renew my team automatically (just in case), but then went inactive for about a week...just in GLB2, mind you, I was still active in GLB1...and the team was actively taken away to be given to an "active" owner. After going through it with support, I did get my flex back, but it was a huge WTF moment for me, and finished the process of turning me off of GLB2 forever.

That said, it's more geared to a casual user, and is very forgiving if you go inactive for long periods of time (unless you're a team owner! ), so you might find you like it better.

But GLB1 is still here, and will still be here for a bit. It still takes freakinshly long to get a player to plateau, and they still don't matter at all until plateau, but at its highest levels I still find the game fun and challenging and entertaining. if you catch on with a good group it makes all of the difference!

We'd all love for you, and other new users, to stay and enjoy and breathe soem new life back into the game...but we also can't say in good conscience that things are awesome when they're not.

I was still trying to give it a fair shake after you got royal screwed over and I have no idea how to even get a contract over there other than CPU's. FA is massively broken and it was a shame that Bort removed our team as most of the agents basically said fuck it after that debacle.
