Something about it just screams "unintuitive" and I guess if both games are unintuitive then maybe I just prefer the clickfest I know vs the one I dont.
First of all they need to take the WG bar and shove it really far up their ass. I mean I like it when I am on the computer and all but when I am on my I phone it is the worst possible thing ever. Always in the way. Even minimizing it still fucks up everything. Just a huge annoyance and takes a lot of my enjoyment from the game when I am using my phone.
Outside of that I think there are some things GLB1 players are just sort of used to and that makes it weird. Like the forum layout just feels nicer over here. But for newer users I think some things that would really help their confusion are:
- On the schedule currently ladder games don't show up until 2 days before your match. To combat this confusion, maybe put Unknown or TBD with a ladder symbol next to it on the schedule so people see how many games they have coming up. Sure there is still a confusion about who they are playing but at least they know there is an upcoming game there that way. I actually like the suspense of the ladder matchup though.
- Playoff bracket preview like GLB1 on the league page. I know there are only 4 teams in the playoffs but the confusion really sets in during those final weeks as to who is in the playoffs, where is the bracket, who plays who. Make it simple.
- Easier ways to figure out statistics. This is just a super mind fuck over there. There are no league leaders pages. The HoF only shows stats for the top 3 guys in any category (and only a couple of stats at that and its the same way on the league page). And statistics are often confusing between whether they are ladder stats, league stats, or both to many people. Bring over a similar team and league leader statistic output page like we have in the GLB1 leagues. Then have a similar page on the GLB2 main for Ladder statistics for both team and individual leaders. (you could even just do the top 100 or something so it isn't too cluttered)
Those are just 3 simple things that could make lives a hell of a lot easier over there for people. Problem is I am not sure Corndog is the guy working on that sort of stuff and I am not sure Bort is the guy either....
