My GLB player building in one sentence is to set everything on Auto Pilot and then come in every couple weeks to see if I need to assign any points or change my training around a bit which sometimes leads to some close calls but I have been around for so long that I get tweeted or Facebooked by the people on my team to make sure that I stay on track which is really hard to do these days since my interest in the game dropped down to several "zeros" which is also....LOOK SQUIRREL

Personally I think its flawed for essentially the reasons you mention.

But it is what it is.

Personally if I were Bort I would just give in and make the game all about Pro play. Build your dot to Day 240 status on Day 0.

So your dots pro career can then be 12 seasons plus whatever decline seasons you want to play him.

Have dots gain skills and points through the entire career in a declining return. So that veteran players are better than rookies in theory.

Have some VAs that are age limited. So that younger dots are different from older ones in good ways as well as bad. Say "Fresh Legs" +1 stamina per level -1 for every 40 days of age. Or just have it only useable by dots under age 200. "Optimism of Youth" +1% to morale checks per level, -1% for every 40 days of age". "Hungry" +0.1 per level to Strength and Speed etc.

That way a younger dot may still be appealing, even if he doesn't have all the other VAs of experience.

Also put in serious age related salary minimums and salary caps so that teams could not avoid having dots of all ages on the roster.

isnt this pretty much the same as it is now? the older players are better than the younger ones?

This is a good troll format. Make a thread saying "blah blah blah in one sentence" post 4 sentences. I'm gonna try it on some other forums and let you guys know how it goes

Assuming he means that it would still be the same, except dots would start at the current position in which they are and go from there. Which is crazy and without a doubt the entirely wrong direction this game needs to go.

It was silly to give us all these crazy amounts of SP's in the first place during the building restructure. Basically made building less choice worthy and now everyone has pretty similar teams despite having pretty sizeable SP differential.

that and because me missing day 48 because of work permanently screwed over my rookie that hadn't even played a game yet.

wat sense is that..

jampy is the only person who tries yet is unable to make good dots, so he gave up on making dots though he never actually made one, this is the equivalent of me giving up playing in the NBA despite the fact that I would never be allowed near an NBA roster...

thats harsh. you have a much better chance at making the NBA than jampy does at building a decent lvl79 dot. keep your head up, champ.

the only direction this game needs to go is to let us all just have 79s and make it like older peewee. gold-silver-copper etc etc and just let us fuck around. i havent watched a game since blitzing got killed off. this whole building a dot and waiting for jampy to finish school thing is gettin real old.

scrap this game altogether and make a more in depth AI for GLB2 that has all the inputs already locked into packages. All you have to do is place the plays you want where you want.

Code some different viewing opportunities for the game. Adding in both a dot version and a vertical version of the current graphical upgrade.

Make the fields more customize-able. You don't need to go as in depth as allowing people do put whatever they want in there but allow for some options.

You don't have to make weather do anything yet, but it would be at least neat graphically if you can start adding in snow/rain into the graphics. Not too graphically impairing of course, just a slight nod to it happening.

While I don't think any of that could possibly happen before one of their other games takes off and they can hire another coder, it should imo be the direction they should be headed.

say they took coordinating (depth charts and AI) from GLB1 over to GLB 2 and included dot graphics as well as the gl2 graphics. would you want to keep the player building the same as it currently is over on #2?

I like some of those thoughts but I really dislike GLB2's layout and look/feel. Maybe its just being adverse to change but I really dont think thats it. Something about it just screams "unintuitive" and I guess if both games are unintuitive then maybe I just prefer the clickfest I know vs the one I dont.

Oh and for the zilionth time....they need to restructure the costs in both games imo. Make dots disposably cheap. At least in GLB classic anyway. So cheap that it is very common for most people to have dozens of dots, if not teams worth of them. The game is just not really a "roleplaying" game, not for the players themselves anyway. It really is more of an owner/gm roleplaying game and owning a team should be the costly (flex-wise) thing to do. Would make owning a team more important & more competitive because there'd be less teams fighting for the scraps of dots left.
