The touchness of the Western Conference in S41 rivals that of S40 and might even be a little harder. Just like in S40, you have 9-10 quality teams fighting for 8 playoff spots and any of those playoff teams are good enough to win the division.
My pre-season rankings based on what I think will happen...
1. All Pro Falcons - new kids on the Western block, but have been a top contender on the East side for a while and one of the few teams that will probably go full-full placing them as my early favorits.
2. Crib Midgets - had a great regular season last season going 15-1, but then had a surprise 1st round exit. I think CM will be back with a chip on their shoulder with something to prove.
3. Ultimate Underdogz - this team returns to PWG and has shown they can win at this level by going 15-1 in PWG in S38. If they go full-full and try like they did in S38, this team can go far!
4. Chicago 85' Bears - looking to 3-peat, but wont be able to go full-full, so will likely be a 2x with partial CEQ. The lowered boost & CEQ will drop their success some.
5. Lone Star Mercenaries - quality PWG agents that took this no-no team to the official tourney championship game and gave my full-full team quite a game. I would rank them 1-2 if they went full-full.
6. Epic Holiday - had a good season at 11-5, but had an early playoff exit. A dangerous team that is likely to go full-full again and is gaining more experience every season.
7. Royal Cocks - said they will be on auto-pilot until the playoffs, but did that last season for a 13-3 record. However, said they might not full boost, so dropping them some, but still a dangerous team.
8. Sons of Anarchy - was on auto-pilot last season and barely made the playoffs. But then went full out in the playoffs and even though they lost in the 1st round, they took the eventual champions to OT. I think this will be a repeat season to last season and they will do just enough to get that 8th seed.
9. Miami Golden Gators - young agents that show promise and the ability to scout well. Had a decent season at 10-6, but pulled up a major upset in the 1st round by soundly beating CM. While a good up and coming team, I think they would need a couple upsets of higher ranked teams to have a shot at the playoffs.
Notes on other teams:
OffTopica Redemption - had a great regular season until they were caught using multis. I just don't see them putting up a full-full team like last season and will likely struggle if they field a team at all. Could surprise people and grab one of the lower seeds, but I just don't see that happening.
Midnight Marauders - decent team, but is just not able to compete with the better PWG teams as evident from their multiple losses to PWG teams in S40.
Little Ohio State PeeWees - as a Michigan fan and an Iowa alumni, I am happy to say this will be a 1&done team...
Big Pete's House of Munch - not sure how an 11-5 Silver team that lost in the 1st round made it to Gold, but I don't foresee them being much more than a punching bag for the better PWG teams.
Lincoln City Seals - this was a mostly CPU team that made it to the conference finals in Silver and should have never been promoted to Gold. While it has good coaching, I don't see them doing anything other than a CPU team this season.
Richmond Brockies CP - jet3carolina recently bought this CPU team, but don't see him doing much with it.
Adelaide Wallabies - CPU team, enough said!
There are a lot of variables here, including effort/scouting and boosting/ceq that can play a big factor in these rankings during the season. If you don't like what I said about your team, PROVE ME WRONG!
