The correct question is "are the lower levels important at all if wanting a long term dot?" The answer to that is no.

Thanks, I'm just using him for this season and I'm going to create another one next season Originally posted by Theo Wizzago
It's not that it isn't important... it's that building dots kinda doesn't follow logic here. When I started (as with about 99% of everyone here their first time), I built just as you did... logical. Putting my points into my primary skillS rather than how I do things now, which is to put points ONLY INTO ONE primary skill... for a long, long time.
Now, if your dot is playing PeeWee leagues and, most people who play in those leagues recycle (retire) their dot after that season and do it all over again. If you're doing that, then spreading out your SP's isn't all that bad. But, if you're going to imnvest time and money into building a dot all the way to the end (plateau)... then you really want to build it right. Best (easiest) way is to find a good team BEFORE you create your dot... and ask about being mentored along. That's how I eventually learned all I know.
But, here's some stuff that might help you out even more. The following are links to threads about building dots;

The rest of these links are about various scripts you can install and use for player building;

Hope this helps you out.

Thanks!

1) It doesn't matter if Vision is your 2nd or 3rd attribute. Strength and Vision are both kinda important but ultimately they are tied for a distant second in terms of a QB build. The most important parts of making a QB is that you have lots of Throwing and enough speed to hit your drop back fast enough in order to get into your progressions quickly and remove the insta hurry aspect.

2) You are one of the biggest failures in GLB.

i definitely prefer QBs with more vis than strength but i dont think it really matters since they'll both be pretty high.

i still think confidence us worthless. if i were to make a QB, i wouldnt go over 70 tbh.

One thing about the Vision/ Strength thing that is worth considering:

When adding VA's you get .5 per level for football genius and only .3 for workout warrior.
For this reason I went with higher natural Strength so I could make up for lower Vision easier with VA points.
This seems to be the more efficient use of SP's.

Fwiw Hedgehogs QB with strength 2nd throws 5000000 INTs. Moved some throwing to vision to get around 95, now only throws like 200 INTs.

I am convinced throwing>vision>strength. Honestly there haven't been enough well built vision-throwing split equipment QBs to rule that out as viable either imo.

a throwing>strength>vision QB build should still be able to get Vision > 100 with VA's

I could show you a bunch of examples of strength second builds that are MVP winners throwing very little for INT's over the last several seasons.

It is all about play calling. (and no i don't mean throwing a bunch of lolscreens)
