Think of the epic thread derailments and e-peen waving that would ensue!

And if bolick gets involved all the multiple quote boxes in a single post!

Hate to say this is an exercise in futility but consider; Most here simply want to hear from Bort that things are totally normal... that new stuff if being considered and soon to be implemented... that GLB1 is STILL a big thing with WG. Truth is, GLB1 is an old game whose shelf life is degenerating. Fact. Not fiction. Will we miss it? Sure. Will we find other things to enjoy... duh. Whatchu think? Pouring money, time, and resources into this game just isn't on the horizon and, most likely, shouldn't be if WG wants to really grow and expand their market. New games are the answer (Sorry... GLB2 doesn't really count as a new game... just a lame extension of this one and slated to be nothing but a bridge to the next game they're working on) and that's where WG is gonna be spending time and effort. They'll work to keep this one going as long as it's financially feasible... maybe, since it's their baby, even past that. But, without NEW players joining in in much bigger numbers than the last several seasons, there's no future here. Just living out the days and enjoying the ride while it lasts.
So, get over yourselves and enjoy as much as you can for now. tomorrow approaches and time always wins.

I for one think that is a shit mindset. You have here a customer base that is willing to put more $$'s into your game and into a game that isn't really costing you money at the moment surely, because as you mentioned, time and effort is spent on GLB2 and whatever it's 'bridging' to.

The agents here are here because it is a football sim. I'm not going to a baseball sim or a mortal kombat sim or whatever the hell is getting thrown around. This is complete disregard for customers.

So many games out there are updated games, but they keep the same generic features of the original and fix up the graphics or the game play or the user face, GLB2 hasn't done that. Everyone knows it's a different game that is nothing like GLB 1 and who knows what it was intended for.

I expected to read Admin under your name instead of Coyote

I don't mind them working on other games. They're a for-profit company. They want to grow. Nothin' wrong with that.

I DO mind them forgetting to dance with who brung 'em. They haven't entirely abandoned GLB1, but they've sure come close to it. They also haven't done much to dispel that notion among the userbase, and at times have acted to actually foster that mindset.

GLB caught so much praise in the early days because Bort was in touch with his customer base. Primarily he was in touch with DD but thats a different story for a different time. But in all seriousness it was nice to see the guy who created the game on the forums give out hints/advice/help daily. Then it went weekly then it went non existent. I realize he catches a shit ton of flack but a lot of it is self imposed by not showing up anymore.

That happened during the Catchless Q&A and it was the only one that was ever remotely interesting other than the one that discussed the new game. When will the 3 people that still care realize people don't want to talk about the game itself any longer?

...seriously, there are very little sports oriented games that are viable options for game planning and tactics in a MMORPG such as this ...american football is the perfect choice coz it is so complexed and so devoted to team strategies/tactics/structures ...when I found this game, it was very much what I needed but I would have prefered it being more team oriented than player oriented

I understand you Ezra but it's not about a 'mindset'. I am, in general, an eternal optimist... but I am also not a blind optimist. I tend to always drift back to reality. And the reality is I cannot find any good logical reason for WG to pour a lot of time, effort, and money into GLB1. I don't expect them to abandon it... as long as it's financially feasible. Even longer since it's their original baby and even a company can become 'attached' to such things. But to financially jeopardize it's future by throwing cash into a downward spiraling product would seriously undermine my belief in WG as a solid investment of my time and money. No matter how much fun I'm having. I expect GLB1 to be around for a bit longer... what I don't expect is much change or growth. Ride on brother... ride on.

Bort is actually a multi of Dub J. Which means there are no Q&As ever again. (Until he comes back)
